I want to add something here: Upon realizing my utmost recent lust for the CL design, the fact that I think if there's ANY M-B right now that will be a timeless Classic, put right next to a 280 SE and the like in the future, it's the CL. Realizing that a 4 year old CL isn't much more if at all than what my E is currently worth, I have seriously considered the option of getting one at some point.
After realizing that I can't fit into the stupidly cramped CLS with headroom so limited for my 6'4 height and long torso, yet "forgiving" that fact since I don't like the CLS design much to begin with.... I thought the CL might be the answer to all my dreams. I'm getting tired of 4-Doors, and it basically looks like my E Class with a Coupe body, rounded/smoothed voluptuous metal, etc. So I looked up headroom specs.... EXACTLY the same as the CLS. A horrid 36.9". Really, M-B? You have a GIANT Coupe and it can't even fit someone at 6'4, which is barely the height of an NBA Point Guard, in it?
I'm seriously in depression off of this. Maybe someway when I try and sit in it, it'll have enough frontal headroom, but 36.9" is exactly the same as the CLS, and it was so cramped my head hurt when I got out.
On a lighter note. I sat in a 6 Coupe today, and the headroom is adequate, yet still a bit cramped. Somehow German Cars are getting lousier in headroom for us tall folk. American cars on the other hand always know how to design sleek with generous headroom up front.
