X3/X4 BMW X3 (G01) - Spy Pics & Info

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.
Yes 100KG loss the weight load bearing section of the CLAR architecture is fabricated from CFRP and will be the centre piece for all RWD BMW models , beginning from the new 7er and then when you add other lightweight materials on and under the surface you get a substantial weight loss.
The BMWi initiative provided substantial areas than can be supplemented with lighter materials, not just with Carbon Fibre but other areas throughout the vehicle.

The autobild render is half way there. It will be evolutionary but the details will begin to feature the more angular technical styling. Headlights will be L shaped as will X3 characteristics such as the kicked up glasshouse and T-Shaped headlights. An extended wheelbase Li offering seven seats will also feature for the first time in the X3. It will also introduce an all new X4 model.

An extended wheelbase version is a wise move. Here's some spy pics I haven't seen posted here yet:

A new impression of the G01 BMW X3. It leads the next generation of BMW styling to the X family.
So expect more chiseled looks and more presence. Some elements are used within the final car be it more angular headlight units in L format and a more squared off kidney grille.
It will be recognisable as an X3 with the carry over T shaped rear lights and kicked up hoffmeister kick in the rear glasshouse.

2017 BMW X3 rumored to spawn fully fledged X3 M version with M3/M4 engine
Plug-in hybrid and M40i versions also planned
Australian media has disclosed some juicy details about the next generation BMW X3 codenamed G01.

Slated to go on sale in the second half of 2016 in Europe, the all-new X3 will allegedly use a new modular design which will boost the space inside the cabin while at the same time making the SAV more comfortable compared to the current second-gen model that was released in 2010 and received a facelift last year.

The report specifies BMW is preparing a warm M Performance version set to be sold with the X3 M40i nameplate and equipped with a six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo engine developing more than 347 PS (255 kW). If that's not enough, a fully-fledged M derivative is apparently in the works and will borrow the M3/M4's engine where it churns 431 PS (317 kW).

Also expect to see an updated version of the current 2.0-liter turbodiesel while a plug-in hybrid version is set to join the range by mixing up a four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with an electric motor. It should have a combined output of approximately 333 PS (245 kW) and offer an electric range of 31 miles (50 km).

^This renders are looking very fantastic. But are they not to much F15 like, especially at the rear?
Yes I would say so. The T-Shape remains but the execution will be different.
Rear lights are more edgier and sharper.

I don't know if this is the correct thread to post these pics. I ask sorry to all people if isn't correct.

These shots are mines and I'm not very sure if it's one mule from the future X3 or other things; maybe the eDrive version. I remember some years ago to see one mule from the last X1 driving only one in the afternoons, without tailpipes with one BMW ActiveE.

The mule from these shots went with other mule as this one, with two tailpipes as six-cylinders models, but with the door emblen "xDrive20i". I couldn't take shots from this one..

Its the same as before when we saw the 5er Touring with the front of the G30 and the rear of the F31 but riding on the G30 chassis.
It is the same here with the front of the G01 attached to the F25 but riding on the chassis of the G01.
But praise be... For the first time we are going to get an X3M. Which would be good because the new X3 is very handsome , its very sharp in its details.

Mmm.. are you telling me this is a mule from possible X3 M?

I remember very good the mule that you're telling me and all spy agencies sold as new 5-Series Touring, and I knew was no possible because Touring models go never before sedans versions.

No we are not at that testing stage yet. This will be the conventional X3 G01. They will be doing conceptual feasibility testing with the Car's Carbon Core with the new CLAR architecture.

Many thanks. I've understood now. Only a mule testing new components and materials.

So this is CLAR right? Not some modded old X3 like how the F15 X5 is a modded E70?

@SCOTT27 I was looking at the Autobild's render and wondering if those are any close to the real deal.

Well if you look at some details with the Autobild Render they seem to be a bit misjudged, one point is the kidney grille which is more wider and less taller from today's car which the render uses.
The front of the new car is similar to this what with the L shape and X3 flick at the headlights bottom outline connecting to the grille. Laser Light will be an option as featured here in the render. Overall the car is evolutionary but the details are more sharper and modern. The interior is a departure from today's car.
