They do.. did you miss the Honda Accord comparisons and pictures in the S class coupe thread?

Thing is.. most MB fans don't give a fug.. while bmw fans get instant menstruation, which makes it a lot more fun to ruin BMW threads.

:D
Ok everyone have had their say.. no more.

This is true, I really have to work on that even more.

Edit; sorry Monster, we posted the same time. I'm done too, no worries mate!

I must be bipolar or something, but I´m starting to look at this car with different eyes. I close to like it.

In that shot, I think the exaggerated grille size looks just fine. Might be too much for a 7er, but for the 8/9er, I think something as large and commanding as that grille would definitely scream 'uber BMW'. Also, with normal sized headlights, it'll look more balanced.

Me too. I remember you sending me the shots via Whatsapp and I was absolutely HATING it.

Now, after some time I am close to really like it. And I again remember that I almost never like a new BMW design at first sight, they always have to grow on me. Particularly a flashy concept car like this one.
I also understand that people who do not take the time to let it sink in or who just don't care, find it ugly.

I agree. And because 7er will be close to this but with smaller grille and bigger headlights, I think the G11 will be stunning!

Don't forget that we have the Villa D'Este Concept coming soon in a few weeks.
I don't know what it looks like in reality just some sketches but what I have been told is that its another piece of the jigsaw of BMWs push upmarket in non-current segments.

I was hoping to submit some coupe Z concept, any 1-3-5-etc, but not.....

"non current segments" luxury tractors?, golf carts?
But surely be something radical and interesting that will make us head explode, as with the Vision Future Luxury

The industry rumor has it the Villa d'Este Concept is a 6-seat futuristic crosover, done in collaboration with Bertone.

Putting a laughably large grille on a BMW to give it a commanding presence is a very cheap, forced, and uninspiring way of making it an 'uber BMW.' After the 6er GC/2er etc. I have every confidence in the exterior design team to create something that screams 8/9er without 99% of the front end being covered by those ridiculous grilles.

I'd much rather see perfect proportions (which this car actually has IMO!) and creative ideas achieving that.

Anyone who hates the grille on this car must also hate the grille on just about every Audi these days. I mean, seriously, the way Audi seems to be heading, they will pretty soon just have a grille with two headlights attached to the front of their vehicles.

Oh, and for the record, I worship the grille on this BMW. It's definitely huge, but I think it fits this car perfectly.

That comparison isn't valid. The Audi grille is very very different from the BMW one. It's comparing apples to oranges.

Bertone ? That would actually surprise me a bit.

A somewhat larger, say M-B SL sized, GT segment car would be nice. A recent article in Autobild alluded to an F12/F13 6 series successor that would be less portly. Perhaps we may see a precursor...?

Isn't this year's motto 'The roaring twenties' (Great Gatsby style)? And since they also want to celebrate Rolls-Royce's 110th birthday, I expected an exaggerated roadster with Emily on the hood.

probably the sons birthday is not as important if the mother wants to present her new baby ?

Yeah, it's different in that it's a different shape. Other than that, the point I'm making - that Audi's grilles are becoming larger and larger by the day, it seems - remains valid. In other words, I have heard a lot of people say that they hate the front of this new BMW because the grille is just too big and it overcomes the rest of the vehicle. To that I say, welcome to just about every Audi out there. I swear that, during the winter, I sometimes confuse an approaching snow plow with an Audi (just kidding, but you get my point).
