M2 BMW M2 [official thread]

The BMW M2 is a high-performance version of the BMW 2 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. As the 2 Series replaced the 1 Series coupé and convertible models, the first-generation M2 was marketed as the most basic M model in the range. Official website: BMW M
Renders. They are missing the reprofiled "Fangs", new Wheels and the joint kidney Grille. Amongst other minor details. The launch car on the official media is Hockenheim Silver which is also going to be offered with the M5 later (Perhaps with the Competition Packet?)
It debuts in Beijing with an X3? So I wonder if the X3 is the X3L? Or concept of iX3?

Those renders are some months old already... They do look good though, but they aren't real deal.

The same images posted @rs271 on previous page of this thread (post from Nov, 15)....and on that page you can find leak images of M2 competition

The fabric covers do not align with door openings. Check the distance of the mirror to the wheel arch.

X3M or x2m30i (or m35i)
I think its based on the UKL platform because of the brake calipers being on the opposite side of the front wheel just like the X1, X2 and the new 1er and not like the CLAR platform cars
X3M mule for reference: (brake calipers are on the side towards the door)

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
