Well, that’s it! E63s ordered! That was a very, very tough call between 2 amazing vehicles. Both with strengths, but ultimately the amazing character of the E63 and practical space of the Estate won me over!

Great choice!
I for one could not live with the choppiness and constant thud in the cabin at high speed of the M5.
That is sound is obviously synthesized and is quite annoying in a good car.

M5 usually does very well on slick track surfaces. E63s does very well on the street surfaces.

Will be something if the M5 can beat the Panamera Turbo S fastback on street surfaces.

Seriously doubt they will. At that point they’re taking to want to sell you an exclusively AMG model called the AMG GT 4-door. And we’ve only seen the beginning of what their plans are for that car.

They're making the E class AMG an afterthought, like they have already done with the CLS and E coupe.

I guess, if you want more performance from the E63S you’ll get then get the AMG GT 4-door at which point BMW will offer you at M8 and M8CP.

Not sure if I follow here. I think Mercedes has been clear that AMG is becoming a sub brand and as such will have exclusive models with the highest performance. This doesn’t make the E63 an afterthought to me; it’s just no longer the fastest 4-door in the family.

This ultimately gives AMG some freedom to do more extreme things with its offerings.

I guess, if you want more performance from the E63S you’ll get then get the AMG GT 4-door at which point BMW will offer you at M8 and M8CP.

Right. And I’m sure BMW will meet Mercedes on the battlefield when the GT73 and other variants hit the street as well. This competition is all to our benefit.
