3 Series (F30/F31/F34/F35) BMW F34 3er GT: Spy Pics - Renders - Info

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. A long-wheelbase sedan version (model code F35) was sold in China. For this generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate. It was succeeded by the G20 3 Series, and the G26 4 Series Gran Coupé (F34). Production: October 2011 – October 2018
Same face the new 4-serie Coupe are going to look like?

No. But all gravitates to the similar idea. Sedan, GT, coupe ... similar but not the same. 4er will have its own distinctive face - yet similar to the one of sedan & GT. But not the same, of course!

Mind the 3er GT front end is higher than the one on sedan / touring, and especially the coupe / cabrio / gran coupe. The kidney grill & the headlights accordingly follow the front end proportions. Meaning: 3er GT featuring the tallest grille & headlights, 4er the shortest (yet perhaps the widest - to add even more to lower & wider sporty look).

Remember when most of us thought it's impossible to get uglier than the 5GT...
then we got a surprise... the F20 and most of us thought it can't get uglier than the F20...
then we got the 3GT... what's next to remember from BMW ?
DAMN UGLY !!!! The ugliest car ever... damn... might have a good front but that greenhouse is the worst I've ever seen and it completely ruins the car...
3 cars left to be ruined - 2er, 4er, X5

At least BMW helps me understand SangYong's design better :)

Seriously, that greenhouse is absolutely appalling. It reminds me of a greenhouse from one of those early-mid 90's Concept Cars, in fact the whole car reminds me of something like that.

Very, very, very, VERY ugly.

Quite possibly the worst looking BMW I have ever seen in my life. EVERYTHING is horrible. The shape, the grille, that stupid vent on the side, the ungainly proportions, the horrible greenhouse..... EVERYTHING SUCKS.

The 5er GT is not ugly. Not compared to this thing here, and not compared to the front of the F20. F20 has the worst front by far, this 3er GT is overall the worst BMW I have ever seen. I need to erase this from my memory.

BTW, has Scott or Eni come by to defend this piece of crap yet? Probably....

drama queen alert?

hold the judgement until you see the car in person. it works. much better than 5er GT.

Drama queen alert? Says the man who is almost crying over some rust in a single isolated case.... ;)

I don't need to hold my judgement to see the epicness of this failure. I'm sure it will sell well (and that's probably all that matters to you Eni) but I don't give nothing about sales. I want to see pretty BMW cars, and this creation here is the worst in the company's history. Period. It just screams 'fugly'. Just like the front of the F20.

Not only that is a weak ass argument, but now you're insulting our intelligence ? That we cannot perceive what it will look like in 3D ?

And tell you what, this 3er GT will come complete with rust on its unseen parts.

After the F20 and now this... I have to agree that even the 5GT looks better now :)

PS: If it rusts it will be the most disastrous car coming from BMW :D
I have to admit that it's a car I'll be happy to see rusting from day one :D

It will probably be even worse in the metal. But indeed, no need to hold my judgement. I can perfectly see this car here.

Mini, lets hope they all rust away before even being delivered ;)

The "wait until you see it IRL" is quite a porr excuse. If a design feature is ugly, it´s just ugly. And nothing more. You can be unsure about the size, the stance, the proportions, the interior quality... These thing can be certified in a real sight of the car. But the design can be critisized with a bunch of pics.

Here we have the pics, and the shape of the car, is just plain horrible. I don´t see how could nobody buy this thing. Bo matter how practical it is. Nissan sells that horrible cube, in which you probably should be able to play basket inside, but its design is so ugly. I mantain my opinion that the front end looks nice. But the rest is laughable. Look at the rearlights way of wrapping the side profile, there´n not even a shape there.

This car looks much worse than the 5er GT mainly because the GT the only ugly thing it has is its shape. The front end looks fantastic, the rear is very nice, and the interior a home run. But this? This is just a bad joke.

3D perception from 2D pics??? Not quite.

Really, the car looks better irl.
I will hold the judgement until i see it irl.
Personally, i don't like this type of car but my 25 years old younger brother who is not a BMW fan (instead, an Audi fan), likes this car very much! (Strange for me! I guess this is just a matter of taste.) He even gave this car 9 of 10 from design wise especially for the front end which has nicer headlights & less bulkier hood compared to the regular 3er sedan (i'm agree with him) and the overall shape that reminds him of Audi A7 which is far more expensive (hmmm not so sure..).
So i hope what you're saying is true, otherwise i will force him to just take the regular 3er sedan or Audi A5 instead.

After looking, well i think the only thing that is ruining the car is the greenhouse. Otherwise individual design elements, including the front and the rear, imo is good.
The front, i think you really can't tell it is not a sedan or a coupe if you just look at the front, it is so low and flat, there is absolutely no problems with it imo. About the joint headlights/grille, come on, i think this one is even better executed than the F30, and this is simply an interpretation of the Vision ED, the only difference is that the VED doesn't have a lens covering up its pair of angel eyes, and i would bet my 2c that some model in the next generation will lose the lens and be more VED-like. This isn't really a mistake is it? It's just going back, i mean for example the E30 and more recent E34, they had 2 circular headlights on each side without a lens covering them up, and imo the VED is a modern interpretation of that. So i think, the headlights lens joining the grille thing is an interim thing to bridge the old and the Vision. I think it's pretty deliberate and obvious, this generation, including the F10, you can tell they want to make the front end very horizontal and flat, a big departure from the E60/E90 when that traditional BMW design language seemed to have departed.
Then looking at the rear alone, you know for a MPV or a mini MPV to have a tail looking like this it's pretty spectacular.
So what's the problem? i think the front end is shouting it doesn't want its body, the front end is slick enough to be a sedan, and indeed I really honestly think that the F30 should have this front, it looks more in-line with the E46 and E90, while the current more extreme F30 front, would suit this thing more. I don't know, BMW made the 5GT having a high and prominent front, it looks big, but this one, while it looks good and sporty, nothing from the front tells you that this is not a sedan, in other words it doesn't match up well. The F30's front, with some fine tuning tweaks, should be aggressive enough for the F32.

Come on the F20 is way uglier, that front end is really disgusting. Nothing compares to the all time special F20 for now. Out of topic but don't you guys really think BMW deliberately dumbs down the 1er all the time? E.g. the E87 was great, but look at the interior materials given to it pre FL, hard plastic, the passenger side glovebox was not even mechanical, but was connected with some bandage like piece of cloth, and they could've easily made the whole car looked more mature, just look at what Audi does with the A3. Fact was the E87 drove better than the E90, and truth is that there are so many shared parts between the 1 and the 3, and therefore they have to dumb down the much cheaper 1series to make it look junior/more cheap than its bigger brother. This generation, the F20 has a reasonable interior and therefore, it cannot have a decent exterior and here we go, the ugliest car. I can't think of any other reason.

And OK, i'm pretty certain, IRL, while this thing may look weird, it will be eye catching. Porsche Pannamera is weird but it catches a lot of attention and who would call it ugly when seeing the thing in person? Still i think IRL, i would still see the front end of this thing shouting to death saying "i don't want this fxxxing body behind me!!"

It's called imagination. You should play a game sometime maybe. 3D worlds on 2D displays....it actually works....
I know exactly what I am going to see irl. It's no science. Design wise this car is not worthy of being called a BMW imo. The 1er FWD GT ( which I have not seen irl either!) looks a zillion times better than this here....
