Hmm read 2 swedish reviews..
Aftonbladet and DN..
Both say the car has gone boring..
And it feel more cramped..

Not to great..

shit not again, i thought this would be the right one :D Scott you fooled us, again.

Well all the other reviews are universal in their praise so I think at the moment we can consider the two Swedish reviews as outliers without making assumptions.

Don't take their word for it. Swedish auto journalists are crap. Super biased by always awarding volvo's and SAAB cars with top marks -- while they can't, for just once, test a premium German car without whining about cost and fuel consumption. It's a premium car for crying out loud, not a Tata.

...and they often complain about the consumption of German cars even if the Volvo is thirstier. This have been justified by the Volvo being cheaper...

Audi is the only German up-scale brand that is really liked by Swedish AMS.

Swedish Teknikens Världs says following:
The inside feels luxurious and with good materials. The car is comfortable and quiet. Good automatic gearbox and if you want the car is entertaining to drive.
The car feels like a mix between 3-series and 7-series.

Swedish Automotorsport have their report on 4 February.

You underestimate Artist's ability to find those 2 reports from among the many in these pages that has something negative and over blow it just to make himself feel good.

At least the 5 or 6 I have read says how much better it is than the E60 and we know E60 was still winning some comparisons against the new E. But I am sure there will be many comparisons between the F10 and E and even more excuses ranging from how BMW bribed the magazines to magazines don't know their ass from exhaust pipes.

We will have to remember that neither DN nor Aftonbladet are motoring publications. The "journalists" there are not people I would consider any type of authority on the subject.

I can, however, give you a prediction on what Swedish AMS will say. They will start by saying that it is a bran new car that shares a lot of things with the 7-series and that such a thing mudt be good. Then they will say that it maybe shares too much with the 7-series and that the 5-series have lost its edge in the dynamic department, it is now too refined (they used to say that the E60 was a bit too sporty unless riding on anything but 16" wheels and no sport chassis - comfort junkies). They will then say that it has gained too much weight and that it now is a bit too dear. If the car is well equipped thay will say that this kind of configuration will never happen with real customers and that the equippment is needed to make the car good enough.

They will conclude that the car is best as a 520d with automatic and active chassis but the A6 is still a better buy.

The Finnish daily magazine Iltalehti published a F10 review Today in their car section. They tested the 530d and 535i models. To summarize, the article praised the F10 in all aspects.

I'm going to see the F10 IRL next Tuesday but it will probably take a while before I get to test drive one...

Today newspaper 'Kvällsposten' had nothing but praise. Interior materials = top quality they said and they gave the car 5 stars of 5 stars in category "Driving joy".

The Reviews for this car are so unanimously positive. You know these journalists kinds of need to find areas to criticize with new models, as newer isn't always all better in every way, and an intelligent and objective Reviewer will confidently point out where they appreciate what the old model did, while obviously mixing in the obvious praise, however it seems the F10 is so dialed in and "perfect", they just can't really find anything to bad-mouth about it.

Even the design is so nailed, that although some can subjectively call it "boring", nobody in their right mind can call it ugly, or flawed (of course it will have some flaws here or there, but the overall presentation surely isn't). This is a 100% winner of a car. People will miss the dramatic launch of the E60, but will completely disregard how the car lived through tons of design criticism and drama.

I'm just happy for BMW for finally getting back to what it does best, and for returning to form. To put it simply: "I'm glad to have 'BMW' back". :usa7uh:

Truth is that writing an all positive review is not always what journalists are looking for. Usually these articles are blend, spark no interest and no even bothers to comment on them. Add some controversy and you get a win-win situation.

Now with that being said, I also agree that a journalist should be 100% objective and not care if the article gets the page views or comments one would expect.

While most of our reviews are fairly positive towards the brand (hellooo, BMW fans here), we do write some article where we criticize things and the 5GT and X3 come to mind now. Also, being so close to the brand, we understand a little better the direction they're heading towards and have more insight than other general media. But, we tend to be called sometimes, unfounded, "fanboys".

Ok, done for today :)

Another review:

Our first impression of the new 535i left us, well, impressed. It strikes a fairly ideal balance of sport and luxury in an all-around attractive package. It’s not as avant garde as its predecessor, but we’d be surprised if its less polarizing appearance doesn’t invite a few more buyers. Any doubters who get behind the wheel are certain to be won over.

Well said K-A!

Thanks! That interior in that picture is so remarkable btw! Looks like it can belong to a car at a segment. I guess 5 owners are the ones who get the perks of having basically a 7's interior.

I can't stress enough how much BMW's have always had the underhand to me when it comes to interiors, at least the Bangle era, the E60's just failed to impress. The F10's is a bit "busy", but I don't mind that from a BMW, fits the character, with an M-B I expect a "simpler" look. All said, it's nice to see all reviewers praising the interior so much I.R.L, means that it should feel as good as it looks.
