Considering the possible dealer markups in the US, I wouldn't be so sure about that. You're most certainly right outside the US....and not just a few bucks cheaper.

I have my doubts with the markup considering the prevailing economic environment.

Supply and demand, if the 1M has limited availability and strong demand, over MSP in the USA will unfortunately be a real possibility. And BMW will be complicit.

The US is a fun market, generally things are considerably cheaper compare to Europe but at least we don't have the dealer mark up to factor in, but even with this you still pay way less than we do and usually get better warranties to boot.

Given that the E46 M3 is still a mighty popular car, I'm sure a great number of owners wouldn't mind trading up to an 1M in order to enjoy the peace of manufacturing warranty.
