Concept BMW Concept Active Tourer

Future car concepts, design studies, prototype vehicles, emerging technologies, and previews of what may come next.
When the wife is due her change I hope this will be available because I miss not having an MPV such is their versatility and this one is by far the best looking and will probably be the only one remotely enjoyable to drive.

For the segment, just perfect. BMW did re-write the book on a normally bland segment.

That was the goal. Just like there was eg. a goal back then in the late 90s to bring some spark into the SUV segment with the E54 X5. They aim the same now with this car in the mini-van segment. They have put a lot of effort in this car's design. And a lot of homework has been done. It's the first BMW FWD car, and they HAVE HAD TO make it right. Otherwise FWD BMWs could be doomed already @ start.

Is the hood shut line going to remain like this on the production car? I really hope so!

Looks good.

But I'll wait until the production version. I was extremely disappointed how the production version of the 6er Coupe compared with the concept at Paris two years. Those subtle differences of the concept made all the difference.

True, but the 6er front got toned down significantly, particularly the much smaller (and uglier) new grille. Really hope they don't do with with this new concept.....

E53 ;)

I don´t like these cars. BUT, this is the BMW design that has captured the most of the CS design. The front end and rear end are absolute stunners. The shoulder line, the lower side lines... Everything here is the route to follow for the BMW design.

Fantastic job.

Tell me I'm not falling in love with a FWD BMW...

Hie-hie, me too! So now, just like Eni said then, BMW has pulled it off indeed - the first FWD Beemer had to be this 'perfect' otherwise....fail. I nope hope they keep this new found WOW-ness up with all the upcoming RWD models also.;)

Shhhhit, we would not want ending up loving the FWD models more than the RWD models now would we!?:ROFLMAO:

That's what scares me a lot :D

I still see a exclusive version of the Hyundai ix20 / Kia Venga in front of me :) And that's a good thing, cause I like those cars.
And that beemer is damn nice. The first one since the new 6er that is original and well designed. Kudos!

Oh, yeah, and I hate the interior!

Now what's-up with you and the Korean cars T!? Hope it's not the Schreyer(Audi) connection?:D
Sorry, I just dispise Huyndai/KIA right now...

No need to feel sorry. I have the same, with Audi.

Eni, I've asked before but didn't get an answer....Is the hood shut line going to remain like this? And if so is this a sign (together with the next gen X5) that the fugly hood shut lines as we currently have are fading away again for sophisticated design?

Hehe, well you know, I also own a Kia Venga now, so maybe Im a little brainwashed. But it's sure a lot of car for the money.
And you have to admit that this Beemer has the shape of a ix20/Venga, but just slighly bigger. I'm not saying its noway near the exclusivity and such, but just the shape of the car, a MPV. I'm not in love with the Koreans, I just don't hate them :D

:D :D :D

^OMG, who copied who here?

Though the Beemer is still by far the better looking but all the same it's shocking as to how similar the both are.

Lol BMW have turned the tables they have decided to copy KIA...Very nice concept but if you see the above pics maybe the toned down version will look like the KIA after all....

I'm sorry but saying these two cars are similar is like saying that any two coupés are similar. Apart from the feature in the lower doors area, there is absolutly no similarities between these two.
The pictures were taken from the exact same angles but that's car photography 101.
Nobody coupied nobody here. both cars were shown within days from each other, which means both designs were finished and signed off three years ago
