Spectacular. This is just the nicest front end I have seen in the segment since the E60 M5.

We can only imagine the looks of the M5. Ali will very likely go into cardiac arrest, so we will have to keep an eye on him when the car is unveiled, and have the defibrillator ready!

BTW, reading that little interview with Robertson in the Autocar interview: $1 out of every $5 profit for BMW AG comes from the 5 series. Incredible. Class leader by a wide margin and in almost every international market.

Also interesting how the iDrive menu is an upgrade over the G11 7er with for instance a customizable home screen and full voice control. 7er will receive these upgrades next year.

A few times I have read the release will be today. It is possible that the reason for the different dates is the time lag?
Should the release indeed today in Detroit ( maybe in the early evening ) then we would have in central Europe already Thursday.
Or I'm now completely wrong and mixture different informations about the press release and public release referred to Detroit?

Tonight @23:59?

The more i saw the more i felt happy of this 5er
Cause this is showing me that the m5 will be high level of super cars and will be the fastest sedan for sure like it was when the car released in 2012 but this time plus with one of the nicest exterior ever.

For sure. BMW will not allow a fatty Panamera to take that crown. Mark that @LaArtist. The Panamera is going down hard. And in terms of looks this 540i M pack already looks superior, so that one's in the bag already.

One sad news for you (and all of us, of course)...If BMW follow the f10 pattern, we will see new M5 as a concept in april 2018, and production version in december 2018...so, we will waitttt...

Time for a fully electric 5er with this G30. I can´t see BMW waiting longer than the FL time.

Or maybe not. Because unlike every previous generation, the Touring is coming a month after the sedan. And the M5 is being tested hard already, much sooner than normally.

I forgot, but you will know: how much time was there between F30 and F80?

They will. The first electric 'non i' BMW will be the 3rd gen X3, and that's in 2020 (which is roughly G30 facelift time) And the electric X3 would likely not even be a thing if MB hadn't launched it's electric plans.

It does not make sense to hold the M5 that long. M has not waited as much as before to unveil their latest models compared to the standard versions.

I would say Frankfurt 2017 for the Concept. Geneva 2018 for the production version.

Sounds pretty awesome that you can create your own home-menu in the 5-series. I think this will be the future.

I can imagine me to drive a full electric car in the future. As a fan of sedans an electric 3- or 5-series would be perfect.
I'm looking forward to what BMW will offer.
