5 Series (G30) BMW 5 Series (G30/31/32) Spy Pics & Info Discussion

The BMW G30 is the seventh generation of the 5 Series. Officially announced in October 2016, sales began in February 2017. Production years: November 2016-2023. Body styles: 4-door sedan/saloon (G30), 5-door wagon/estate (G31), and 4-door long-wheelbase saloon (G38).
Ah, you're one of the few who has seen the W213 E63 and the new 5er already...

Yes - exclusive preview of both.

I'm obviously referring to both of the spy shots - can you not make comparisons compared on these?! I forgot we have to wait until reveal to even compare models!

You don't need a huge imagination to understand what the E63 will look like. Take a C63 and add some wheelbase.

I don't even know why they use camouflage, its going to have a standard AMG bumper and 4 quad exhausts

Every M, however, is different - something Mercedes cant seem to do

U are right
And mercedes all the amg is the same with the black crome in the sides in bumper
But in M power each one of them has a different style and shape..and its hard for anyone to iamagine how will be.

Pitty we have that secondary character line out of nowhere.

EDIT: The new M front bumper seems to follow the M2 approach, with a secondary, larger, air intake shape above the traditional one. It might look a bit too much for a sedan right now, but the F10 M5 or the M4 looked really aggressive too with the first spy pics and ended up looking incredibly good when the cars were revealed.

Let´s see if the F90 M5 is as spectacular when the first pics arrive as was the E60 M5 when it debuted.

That's what I thought. And based on that, you could make such a firm statement. Useless to discuss more.

That's what you thought? don't make a sarcastic comment if you didn't want to discuss more

Well the truth is you can make a definite statement at this point of time. I'm sure you have compared and concluded for example two cars which you haven't ever drove in the past.

You can compare these two cars as they are both at the current stage, and I can make a presumption based on the evidence in front of me.

If you take off your MB tinted glasses, you'll see the AMG and AMG package are virtually the same. Just like the different cars are virtually the same, and how a regular C AMG looks almost the same as a C63. It's all borderline boring.

If you think it's useless, don't post. We don't have to hear from you what's useless and what's not. We can decide that on our own.

It would be nice to have single criteria here. I see some of you really dislike when something about other brands is posted here, but don´t seem to have a problem when others post negative stuff about other brands.

I would prefer if everyone avoided provocative comments and focused on the car this thread is about.

Not sure if you mean me, but everybody can say whatever he wants AFAIAC. I like a little debate, particularly when it's on the edge.

But mate, isn´t this the same you were doing with him before?

I get your criticism, but let´s be coherent.
No, it's not the same. I didn't say he couldn't compare. I just found his statement, only based on spyshots, too firm. Any further discussion with domleo999 was for me, from that point on useless. If others want to discuss it, fine with me.

Well that would have been a good reply. Nobody will have an isssue with that.

Lets forget and continue then?

Dear BMW, Please make the next M5 razor sharp, it should be a spear, not a sledge hammer... leave that to AMG.

I'm reminded of when Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the E60 M5 on Top Gear, and despite spending most of his time complaining about the Sat Nav and the indicators, part of his summary was this...

You want to take it on? Don't bother. It doesn't matter what you've got, what you've ever driven, this is faster, it's quicker, it's more astonishing.

That is what the next M5 needs to do, to invoke that kind of response.

The E60 was such an absurd thing when it came out. That V10 on a sedan was sooo amazing. The F10 has received a lot of praise too. But I think it has not been the same.

Let´s see what the F90 is like. It seems in terms of power they are not being as shy as with the F10 back in the day (560 PS always looked like a small jump to me).
