I don't think the 5er is going to have a double Hof kink for example.

I would not call it a double but more like a shadow line which runs from the kink almost diagonally under the glasshouse forming with the actual character line itself.
It is evident in the Spy photographs.

I don't know for sure, but I think that this double Hof is quite visible on some spy shots. And it looks more prominent than I thought it would be:

Many of us assumed that the revealing will be in June or July. But with Scott's statement we have got the first time a confirmation for our assumption. At least I didn't read before anything official about the revealing time.

The F30 was also introduced on this date in 2012, a Saturday.
And February 11th 2017 is also a Saturday.

Reveal in july 2016 and intro in february 2017; 7 months after reveal before you can drive and see the car irl?! Long waiting time for the 5-er prospects.

I agree, Mick. Normally the lapse between reveal and intro are about four month.
For example: F30: 14.10.11 / 12.02.12, G11: 10.06.15 / 24.10.15.

No. First I expected an intro this fall because the presumptions in car magazines were accordingly. And on the basis of the four month span the revealing in June/July.
Anytime ( not now at motor-talk ) I have read the intro will be in spring next year and therefore I have not planned with revealing in June but about in October.
Even if Scott's 40 days time table statement is not similar with a press publication I'm sure his statement is correct.
In this case the introduction date is the unknown factor. But now I have read a few times the 5 will arrive at the dealers next year.

The car will be on sale near the end of the year in Europe at least. Touring will be in Early 2017. Followed by the all-new Gran Turismo.

... with the firsts deliveries in the first quarter of 2017... If the Touring is released in Geneva, will be on sale starting the summer...
