Big Sam
Highway Hunter
I'm revealing the new car I teased a month or so ago. My new Renault 5 E-Tech (150 PS), which I collected yesterday. The trim level is 'Iconic Five', which is the highest of the three main ones, so you pretty much get everything included. It has the biggest battery (52 kWh). The colour is Arctic White with the matt red roofline, and black roof. The interior is yellow, which is the only one you can get with the Iconic Five trim level. The rims are the 18" black diamond cut option.
I love it so far. Fun to drive, and feels like a bargain for what you get. The colour combo looks superb. I do like the Pop Green and Yellow Pop colours, but this pearlescent white with the matt red looks classy and sporty. Unfortunately the colour doesn't look accurate in photos.
I'll be driving it from southern Holland to the north of the UK in just under one month, a journey of about 800km, so it'll be good to see how easy long distance driving in a "city" EV will be.
The main take away for me is that compared to some modern cars from the German big three, it feels like Renault have built the best car they can for the budget, as opposed to building the cheapest car they can get away with.
