Autozeitung:Audi A8 4.2 FSI quattro, BMW 750i xDrive, Mercedes S 500 4MATIC

It was a shocking defeat for the BMW, a real surprise as to how far behind the other two it ended up.

Yeah. Cool! The A8 really seems to be a amazing car to drive and to sit in... But not to look at...

then we should all shut our eyes down, because there is nothing else significant to look at apart...
:D

Yesterday saw a new A8 at the local dealer in black and i must say it looks pretty handsome irl. Allot better than in the pictures.

Yeah, but the BMW and Mercedes aren't front wheel drive cars with added all wheel drive.
The A8 should be compared to the BMW and MB in their best form, meaning RWD.

Also, shocking defeat? What's shocking about it for VAG fanboys?

BMW again on 21 inch wheels with thin rubber - Are they honestly expecting it to be as 'comfortable' and as 'quiet' as the others with 19 inch wheels and enough rubber to prevent many a pregnancy.

I´m surprised to see the BMW in third place. Maybe the xDrive desn´t fit the F01 body as good as quattro the A8 and 4Matic the Mercedes.

And yet it didn't seem to cause the Mercedes much problems as it's score was much closer to the Audi in the overall score.

Whether or not this is true is not really an issue, we are all commenting on this test.

It is rather shocking, like the Audi the 7 series is a new design, much newer than the aging S class yet it ended up to be a very distance third.

But the new 7-series has won against S-class before and in another test the new 7er was tie with A8 and beat the S-class. So a lost here the new 7-series is crap? LoL, in this trio they are all winners.

You may well be right, but of all the reviews I have seen it always shows the 7 series in third, but in this review the distance of it's third place is the most shocking.

Footie, you should read more ;) who cares about the points, Im pretty sure you would be very happy with any of these, even with a 750i. ;)

Here is a test for you where S-class is on third place, now you seen more than you seen before ;)

Again you are quite right, I probably would be happy with each. Though if I was given the choice I would pick the winner, simply because it's got the best interior out of the three and as that is where you spend most of the time I feel that in a luxury car this is the most important thing of all.

To each his own, but I think I bought the car with the best interior and it came third in this comparison. The truth is, first or third, you can't go wrong with these cars as they are the pinnacle. I still wish someone would build a flagship type car around the 3 series/E60 BMW size, I don't really need all the room of the 7 Series.

The 7 series is a fine interior, it's just that I prefer the Audi.

Each to their own.

I actually think BMW did that with the new 5, admittedly you need to spec the VDC to realise this belief.

I'd have to wait and see the Individual options of the F10 as I'm a sucker for adding odd the extra cost for the better look and feel and that feeling of bespoke luxury.

Just driven the new Jaguar XJ today and I must say that compared to all it's logical German rivals I think they are boring but to look at and drive. If you are in the Market for either an A8, 7 series or S-class then you seriously need to have a look at this car.

In a word, glorious.

I am one of the few who here that like the new A8 style wise. Does Jaguar have plans to add an AWD option? That has kept it off my radar.
