Indeed it does.
S-class on the other hand, looks like a true whore-house. Incredibly ugly.

Come on man, you honestly don`t mean that. Opinions respected though. I will admit all three have an element of "love it or hate it", like it or not.
I for one don`t like the headlights of the 7-Series or the S-Class. I also don`t like the front of the standard S, ... (it looks like something borrowed from a lower class MB) How the hell do thay expect to compete with the likes of Rolls or Bentley with such a low-rent stanard front end.
The profile on the other hand is the best in class. It has touch of elegance and class the BMW 7er or Audi A8 cannot match. That is of course, my personal opinion.

there isnt a single detail about new s class thats 'love it or hate it', the car is bland
as it kinda should/is expected to be

but definitely far from ugly

Haha no you're right. It's my usual hyperbole...
But I do like both the current A8 AND 7er better, interior wise. The only thing not up to scratch is the rear seating in the 7er. That's just too low budget without a proper console...

I`m a huge fan of black interiors in big luxury cars. In black, the S-Class wins IMO.
The interiors pieces of the new S are a bit bolder than the 7er and A8 (somewhat gaudy like that of a Bentley or Rolls, clearly giving it a since of richness.) Gaudy
seems to be thin "in" thing now. "Out" are the understated plastic bits. I would give the A8 second place in black followed by the BMW. The metallic bits in the Merc
and Audi gives them a since of modern class. The BMW is more sporty than the Merc or Audi. to me it does not look as modern and fresh.

The word formal comes mind, not bland. This is a word that captures the S and it`s competition. None of these cars has the level of excitement
you seem to be looking for. Your focus is only on the S-Class with all the negative bashing, whats up with that.

yeah, you can say it that way, formal. you'll see when the next gens of the other two arrive how 'formal' s class will look. but then again it should be that way, I clearly said that. Im not expecting it to be radical in design, nor I want it to be like that. and exactly that is the reason why Im not a fan of its interior design. I think it wont age very well. honestly, when I first saw that steering wheel, first thing that came to my mind was 'wtf were they thinking'. its so unlike mercedes. there is a lot 'design for the sake of design' thing going on there. and in a bad way at that. something french manufacturers had mastered over the years lol

and of course, my focus is predominantly on s class because its new. pretty much everything there is to say about the other two is already said, long time ago

Wtf were thay thinking?
If you don`t know anything about the S-Class and it`s extremely rich heritage you should.
The interior and steering wheel of the new S-Class is believed to be a modern take on the Mercedes S600 Pullman of the late 1960s. This was discussed in the S-Class thread sometime back.

now, you see I dont care about the interior of the pullman from 50 years ago (nor should mercedes for that matter, considering the result), you are completely missing the point. In my opinion the interior is ugly. Im sure anyone whos not a fanboy and is gifted with a modicum of taste will agree with me.

LOL

I must admit, I couldn't have said it better. I would however have put that all in one post instead of spamming multiple posts ;)
