Yea I love it. I thought they would have included the fingerprint reader, but it's not a must. Might be selling/trading my iPad2 in very soon to get this.

I'm confused. lol. How many new iPad's are there?

I want one! The Samsung tablet I got from work through some marketing promotion is rubbish.

With today's announcement there will be four iPads on sale, two of which are new.

NEW iPad Air (Full size iPad with all the bells and whistles)
iPad 2 (Full size iPad budget version. Main difference is that it doesn't have a Retina display)

NEW iPad Mini with Retina (Smaller iPad)
iPad Mini (Smaller iPad budget version. Does not have Retina)

This is what ticks me off about Apple. Why didn't they throw in the fingerprint sensor? They always leave out something intentionally.

I know it's more practical on an iphone than an ipad but still, if you are investing so much in a technology and want it to be adopted by the masses, why make people wait ANOTHER year for it?

I'm still on my iPad2.

Is this worth buying?

Me too, good question. It probably is by now...speed alone will be far superior..not to mention it finally looks different...

Simple: they are at max production for iphone. They can't make any more even if they wanted to.

Why do you guys want a fingerprint reader? We all know big brother is storing your fingerprints somewhere. :p

Exactly! It finally looks different and it will be faster and lighter. Plus my iPad2 has had some glitches lately even before the iOS 7 update. I'm going for the iPad Air 128GB WiFi + Cellular.

Still can't beat Nexus 10 :D

Thought you brought the Sony Tablet??? That one is amazing.

So I can feel better about myself for nto buying the 5S and waiting for the 6.

Nobody touches Apple when it comes to tablets. Not even close. I've tried Samsungs and others... Rubbish.

I don't currently own an iPad. The Mini, now virtually identical spec-wise to the Air, makes for a great temptation. On the other hand the Air, now with the nicer look and feel of the Mini and the bigger screen, is equally as moving. I have an iPhone 5 for a year and I feel I am pretty maxed out in terns of functions I would want to handle outside of a computer (I own and heavily use both iMac and Macbook Pro). I am struggling, indeed, to find a justification for a tablet and I am coming up short. Perhaps when Apple finally decides to have its next Air act as a "Macbook Air" when paired to a proper SmartCoverKeyboard (ala Surface), I would be willing to make the move as a replacement for my current Macbook Pro. So, when "turned on", the Keyboard would switch the iPad into a OS X type device, is my expectation.

Bottom line, I do not expect to get an iPad anytime soon, unless I am gifted one this Holiday season. As for my iPhone 5 replacement, the iPhone 6 would have to seriously pack a punch in terms of a larger screen for me to make a switch. I am a 4-year holder of iPhones usually (bought original in 2008 and did not switch until the 5 release in 2012).
