I'm sure quite a few have followed this evening's Apple Keynote. Love or hate Steve jobs, but he's an innovator. Just when rivals are scratching their heads over how to challenge the iPad, Apple all of a sudden throws out a new toy for them to chase.
The 11.6 inch Macbook Air is in spirit like an iPad Pro but with a keyboard, USB-port and slightly more power. 2GB and 1.4Ghz CPU will make many people turn their backs to it but the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Post iPad release, the would have accepted that on the road you can manage your digital life more than well as long as your device is powerful enough for browsing, casual gaming, word processing and photo viewing. So the Macbook Air is more of a secondary on-the-go device than it's a main machine. But lord that price is heart breaking. My eyes are still set on the iPad 2 though.
