MX-5 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata Rendered, Detailed

The Mazda MX-5 is a lightweight two-person sports car manufactured and marketed by Mazda. The convertible is marketed as the Mazda Roadster or Eunos Roadster in Japan, and as the Mazda Miata in the United States, and formerly in Canada, where it is now marketed as the MX-5 but is still commonly referred to as "Miata".
The Italian influence is there clearly IMO, but not fully cooked. The Fiat/Alfa version is going to be a winner.

Marcus, I entered the thread to say the same, but you beat me :P

Looking forward to see this car as an Alfa or Abarth.

Having had 1 of each range over the last few years (2xNA, NB & NC), i'm not loving it....the backside lets it down. Interior is nice, front looks a little too much GT86 for my taste as well. I'll wait for the Alfa/Abarth version.

At lot of the interior looks like it was lifted straight from the new Mazda 2.

the slanted lights in the lower panel, both at front and the rear would be the most difficult aesthetic features to live with. i dont even mind the nissan Z car catfish mouth.

I like it for been unconventional and it's styling will grow on a person for sure. I like the taut lines and bulging wheelarches, it certainly has Jag F type and Ferrari resemblance in the back lights and the back view and wheel arch shape is a bit like a BMW Z3. Interior nice and simple but sporty, great gearshift and vents, small sporty 3 spoke wheel, a bit like the Audi A3 inside which is not a bad thing.

Another thing to love about this car is that it is one of the only affordable RWD sports cars that you can buy (only other model I can think of is Toyota GT86/Suburu BRZ twins) and Mazda has got the balls to make it smaller, lighter (a huge 100kg), more compact and still with a NA engine and manual gearbox, great stuff!

I like it. Lightweight, RWD, manual, affordable, reliable but a little short and not very good looking. It's strange, when it comes to cars, I value inner qualities much more than outer beauty. It's the complete opposite when it comes to women,

And Twingo/Smart

IMO, the best-looking Miata to date is the 3rd generation. I find it the most appealing Miata ever with a very well balanced profile. (y)

From certain angles, I look at it and think, "not bad". But then from others, it looks so bad, I can not understand how the design got approved. Will wait to see one in the tin before I make a final judgement.

It looks much better in this video than in the launch pictures, I like it a lot

It is far better in reality. In pictures it suffers from the same problem as the new MINI in which the silhouette around the headlights is not visible in pictures allowing the nose to look longer than it actually is but you see it in real life and looks far ,far better.

The new MX-5? Maybe. The new MINI? Definitely not, it looks daft now.

The new MINI is not better in reality, it's very odd looking, put it beside the first BMW MINI (a design classic) and it looks bloated and odd. BMW lost the plot with this one.
