And a matter of fact he is. No doubt, he's a very promising driver and does posses skills in driving fast. He's still quite immature and won't blossom until one or two seasons. It's a shame he hasn't graduated through GP2 like Hamilton, Heikki and Rosberg because then he would have been a much more focused driver then what he is now.

I'm expecting the same as you, pal. Lewis can put the 5 or 6 wins in a row easily. The BMWs don't have the genuine race pace to catch them and Ferrari is a mystery. If Ferrari leave Sepang with meager points, I think Lewis is looking very good for the title because Ferrari has a reliability issue, Mclaren doesn't and there is no teammate war in Mclaren this year.
If this season becomes a disaster for them, I hope Ferrari uses this as motivation to get its act together, especially with its drivers. Alonso-Vettel would be the real Ferrari dream team.

We know how that happened, last year macca drivers were superior, if michael had the car raikkonen had, the title would have been gained much earlier in the season.

Even with the Mclaren civil war, Raikkonen needed an epic choke job to take the title. Even then, he needed Vettel and Webber to crash into each other at Fuji, which some say was a crash caused by Hamy.
I don't think either of them are good technical drivers that can help Ferrari get the best car year-in and year-out, so they were very fortunate in '07. Also, I doubt Ferrari's somewhat frequent strategic snafus are coincidental. Some of that goes on the driver. I don't rate Kimi highly as a strategic driver.
Sure, Kimi is a "racer", but there is more to it than that. As Ferrari fan, I think it is better off with a strategic and technical No. 1 like Schumacher, Prost, Fangio than "racers" in the mold of Mansell, G. Villeneuve or Alesi.

I agree. Even though Kimi won last year I still don't rate him higher than Alonso or Hamilton. The reason why he won is because Mclaren f*cked up for themselves.
He got into F1 a little too early. In 2006 he finished 6th in GP2 and then took on a full role as a test driver for Williams. IMO he should have stayed in GP2 for second season like Glock did, and for the record he finished 4th in GP2 during 2006. F1 is high stakes racing and you should only join the circus if you graduate from GP2 in the top 3. Nikajima would have benefited a lot from a second season in GP2.

I rate him considerably below Alonso. As far as Hamilton, I think it is harder to say. I have yet to see Hamilton in an inferior car. If he ever gets one, which looks unlikely in the next few years, we'll see how good he is relative to Kimi. I think Hamilton would be better, but I need to see him in a slow car to make that decision.

while i agree with you, don't forget, last year was practically a whole new Ferrari team. Kimi was getting used to everything. plus, the car itself wasn't reliable last season, at least compared to the Schumi era.

True champions don't need half of the season to be used to the team, you only need to see how alonso managed to do it. And to be very honest with you even during 2nd half of the season kimi's pace was a bit dissapointing for me, i was expecting him to destroy Massa, maybe not like what michael did cause michael remains one class upper in sheer speed, but something better to what he showed.

Alonso had a pretty big transition himself going from Renault to Mclaren and from Michelin to Bridgestone. This year will be Kimi's chance to prove that he's not an overrated one hit wonder like Jacques Villeneuve. Defending the title will be easier this year since Alonso doesn't have the car capable of taking him to the sky. Massa, if driving at his absolute best does have a somewhat reasonable shot at the title, but that's only if he push himself to the edge. Like shonguiz said Massa wasn't really over shadowed by Kimi during the last season and we saw that the the Brazilian GP last year when Kimi won the race much thanks Massa.

I really don't think massa is capable of winning championships, the thing is his sheer pace is good, not too far from kimi's but what he dramaticaly lacks is consistency.
