Not the worst car of all time by any means, but surely a contender for the worst Ferrari of all time???? Here comes the much maligned Mondial

I'm so going to be disliked for this, but f#ck it... Here it goes.

BMW had just launched the V10 powered E60 M5 and Audi had access to the V10 engine out of the Lamborghini Gallardo, so Audi had the resources to create the ultimate wolf in sheep's clothing and the timing to steal BMW's place under the spotlight.

However, Audi deliberately missed this opportunity because they had to create room for the RS6, which would be the rival for the M5.

Right, so... What the S6 was going to compete against? The BMW 550i? Well isn't that what the cheaper A6 4.2 V8 was intended for? The S6 ended up being not quick enough to be a rival for the M5 and too expensive to compete against the 550i.

The S6 (C6) was useless. Worse, it was made deliberately useless by a brand that had all the right ingredients to make it right.

Sure, it was a pointless car and a commercial flop, but the S6 was not a BAD car by any means I'd say...I mean, hard to see it being as nasty as the likes of Trabant, Yugo etc

For here the opposite, I would have given the little finger for a S6 C6 but the sedan, with that Lambo V10 engine......., I would still do it, it is one of those cars to have a lifetime and in 20 years show the incredulous what is under the bonnet and smile like the Joker (a combination of Nicholson and Phoenix joker)

Are there transparent acrylic bonnets or is it too much?

Sure, it was a pointless car and a commercial flop
I don't know for sure but I doubt it was a commercial flop, at the time it was on everyone's lips, pointless? It depends on how you look

Damn... Imagine if I had brought the Audi S8 D3... I guess it would mean war, yes?

Oh shit... What have I done?!

Anyway, being an S8 means that it has to be the fastest A8, but surprise, surprise, the D3 S8 was slower than the D3 A8L W12. It simply had no hope when compared to the Mercedes S63. Sadly another missed opportunity from Audi.

@dalab and @slicknick these Audis are not bad. They are just disappointing. Two major disappointments from a car maker that should've known better.

They are just disappointing

This isn't the just disappointing cars thread.. it's the worst cars of all time thread. You've named two cars that are objectively pretty good, and measured them against the highest point in their respective classes... I know you like your hot-take posts... but let's not be silly about it.

This on top of, in Jeremy Clarkson's words, "being the flobberiest convertible in the world since Saab 900", "taking 25 seconds to change gear" et al

Jeremy Clarkson is a jerk. His opinion should never be taken as a reference. This was an affordable and funky cabrio, based on a compact economy car and should be compared with cars like the Fiat Punto Cabrio and etc. It was so much more interesting than anything in this class. Long live the C3 Pluriel

See that glass boot lid? It gets so hot on a hot day that it can burn your fingers.

67º = 153,14 °F

Speaking of "hot" cars, the Chevrolet Agile (2009-2014) didn't have an exhaust heat shield, so the boot was like a microwave. In retrospect, though, it could be a good pizza delivery car.

And it had a face only a mother could love...

I guess the center caps were optional or maybe somebody at Chevrolet forgot to put them on before sending the car to the photographers. Do you see how the rear wheels look lost inside the rear arches? That's because underneath the ungainly body, the Agile was an extensively re-bodied Opel Corsa B.

No clue how it drove, but this state room on wheels called the Mazda Bongo Skylounge had luxuries such as a microwave oven, a mobile phone and a TV/VCR combo..
It also featured a floor that rose between the passenger seats when the vehicle was moving, probably to avoid that ‘canyon’ feel so common in other Sky Lounge type vehicles. Right, you can have all the Rolls' , Bentley's and Maybach's of the world, I will have me one of these for creature comforts......said NO ONE ever
