just got word from my dealer what canadian pricing will be for the upcoming w204. Here's the breakdown:

C 300 - Pricing - $41,000 CDN
Highlights include standard
sunroof, heated 8-way power seats, Bluetooth integration, bi-xenon
headlamps and our dynamic no-charge Sport Package. The 2008 C-Class is
truly unmatched in this segment.

C 350 - Pricing - $47,900 CDN
With standard AMG body styling (including an exclusive AMG
rear lip spoiler), 17” AMG wheels, THERMOTRONIC 3-zone climate control,
harman/kardon LOGIC7 surround sound with CD changer, and SIRIUS Satellite Radio as a start for standard equipment

C 300 4MATIC / C 350 4 MATIC - Pricing
The C 300 4MATIC will be priced at $44,700 CDN (including automatic transmission) and the C 350 4MATIC at $50,100 CDN.

The 2008 price points have dropped over 2007 prices. For comparison purposes, 2007 vs 2008 base pricing:

2007 C280: $42,800 CDN
2008 C300: $41,000 CDN ($1800 price drop)

2007 C280 4matic: $45,400 CDN
2008 C280 4matic: $44,700 CDN ($700 price drop)

2007 C350: $51,000 CDN
2008 C350: $47,900 CDN ($3,100 price drop)

2007 C350 4matic: $53,600 CDN
2008 C350 4matic: $50,100 CDN ($3,500 price drop)

not to mention the additional std features the 2008 MY's have. Originally i was told that the sport package was standard on the C350 but optional on the C300. Then merc canada changed their minds a couple of weeks ago and announced that the sport AMG package will be standard on the C300 as well!

Mercedes, at least here in canada, is going aggressively looking for new clientele. I think they've priced themselves quite competively. I'll post competitor pricing from BMW and Audi a bit later.

ordered my C300 4matic in white.. can't wait!!!

Congrats nikels,
Quite interesting to note the price drop figures, waiting paitiently for mine as well. Do you have an estimated delivery date?

Thanks for the information. Which dealer did you get this information from? Nice to see Mercedes Canada trying to win some clients with aggressive pricing and options (C300 AMG styling) :usa7uh:. For a second I thought I was going to read that the AMG styling on the 350 was going to be an option and not standard. :D

don't have a delivery date yet, but I do know that the C300/C350 will be available early Sept while the C300/C350 4matic will follow shortly after in late Sept.

My sales rep is awaiting my order confirmation from head office (?) which he'll then forward to me..

Back in June, I happened to chat up my sales rep while in for a major engine re-build (extreme rough idle symptoms!!) for my current w203 and he suggested doing a pre-order at the time as they were only expecting about 100-ish w204's to be shipped for the Greater Toronto Area (pop. over 5 million ppl) for initial launch which works out to be about maybe 10 cars per dealer and after reading about apparent order backlogs in europe, I'm glad I did the pre-order :D .. although i'm really hoping they've significantly improved reliability, that engine re-build was a bit worrisome..

uptown location.. I don't think the prices are meant to be public knowledge yet, but my rep is a helpful fella

Competitor pricing comparison sample:

Audi A4 3.2 quattro tiptronic: 50,815 cdn
BMW 335i/335xi 49,900/52,500 cdn
C350/C350 4matic: 47,900/50,100 cdn

i can't believe mercedes is in the position of being the value leader! weird!

Congratz nikels!

If I may ask, did you lease or buy?

'Cause if you leased, I'm curious what was the rate/term & buyback % !

they have no choice vs. BMW... the C350 cannot match the 335i in terms of engine specs, so they have to be below.

But seeing MB below Audi is definitely surprising.

We haven't worked those details out yet. at this point, i've put in my model, colour and option choices, the dealership put in the order based on my specs... bit of leap of faith on my part as i had no idea at the time what the pricing and rates were going to be like and i also had to put down a "pre-order" deposit to guarantee i'd have first dibs on the first shipment lot..

i'm planning on leasing. hopefully i'll find out soon what the lease rates are.. if i don't like it, i can still get my deposit back and walk away.. i'm sure the dealer won't have any troubles selling my build order to the next guy. :D

as soon as i find out financing rates, i'll post them

It could be the benefit of the increasing value of the Canadian dollar vs. the US. Audi/BMW have yet to release it's pricing on the 2008s (the price shown is for MY07 I believe). If they drop too, then we'll know why.

Still, with the C-Class starting just below $40k in the US, we're getting taken to the cleaners. :(

i think there's a lot of truth in that, being close to par with USD definitely gives MB Canada room to maneuver .. of course they could've dropped the price points more to be in line with US.

it bugs me whenever i see the price difference b/w US and CAN for cars despite strong dollar but at the same time, it could be alot worse, look at parts of asia and europe!

<<Still, with the C-Class starting just below $40k in the US, we're getting taken to the cleaners.>>

More than just below 40K. The C300W Luxury base is fixed at US $33675. And I have a copy of my unborn car's window sticker which shows that number. But, this will not be the advertised base price which will be, believe it or not, US $31200. No cars will be produced at this price because there are several mandatory pretend "options" which bring the price back up to $33675.
Namely, code 167 Luxury Sedan $260, code 427 7-speed auto trans $1440, and destination and delivery $775.

So, some target competitor's price must be something above $31,200. This just proves that both MB and MBUSA are just another car outfit, just like all the rest. Juggle the numbers and hope that the customers never catch on until it's too late.

Referring to the Canadian models, it looks like most cars will be some sort of Sport model (except the base cloth seats, no sunroof, cheap wheels model) which means no interior color choices. Black.

Doesn't surprise me since my dealer told me that about 75% of their 204s purchased for stock will be Sport models. I still say that MB can chase the 3-series but they will never catch it. And I don't care.

It's not worth comparing CND to US prices these days because we are gouged by every manufacturer... but then again, we had it pretty good before the dollar rose so I guess we should not complain too much.

This excerpt was taken from a MB Canada head office memo sent out to all dealers and general managers:

"We strongly encourage all dealers to revisit their C 300/C 300 4MATIC orders to include the No-Charge Sport Package on an appropriate proportion of vehicles vs. ”base” C 300s.

Optimized stock is crucial to a successful launch, therefore please be reminded that August production will be getting locked early, so orders need to be modified immediately. Like with the MY2007 E 350 4MATIC, the Sport Package will remain selected by default to minimize mis-built
vehicles. "

Sounds like they're really trying to push the sport look despite the dual choices of sport and luxury. I had the opportunity to look at the sport version in person just this past weekend as my dealer was preparing five C300 sport's for a press junket and I have to say, seeing the cars in person, they had me sold! :D

have you heard what the wheel options are for the C300 /c300 4matic ? I've only seen the 5 spoke 17"

here's what the wheel options are for Canada. I asked if the 18" AMG wheels would be offered for the C300 at all and it doesn't appear that they will do so

I received that attachment as well, but that was released before mercedes changed their mind and made the sport package as the default when ordering. Originally that 5 spoke was an option that came with the optional sport package. It would be nice to see at least one other set of wheels to consider

good point, not sure what they would offer as an option at launch. looking at the picture, the 5 spoke option for the C300 sport wasn't that appealing but i did manage to see it person and it looks alot better in the flesh imo.
