The two least powerful petrol-powered il4s' (1.6L/156PS and 1.8L/184PS) are reputed to be the most durable, reliable powerplants. They enjoy the reputation of being very close to "indestructible". Germanys' AutoBild weekly had the 156PS C180 in its' long-term testcar fleet. In 13 years (2007-2020), it covered over 500,000 kms, scheduled service intervals were adhered to. Very, very few defects, those cited being minor and easily correctable. The magazine reported that it was one of their most trouble-free long-termers. Ever. I believe that it is still in Autobilds' fleet.

A good W204 with the aforementioned engines and a comprehensive service log is always a prudent purchase.

Are these 1.6L and 1.8L engines same in facelift models or there are some changes. Would like to find some facelift model, the interior is better for me with changed console and navigation solution.

MOPFs' (MY 2010) introduced direct fuel injection systems replacing the former intake injections. HP figures remained unchanged, but torque was moderately increased. The MOPF also brought a 7-speed G-Tronic Plus gearbox option. Regardless of MOPF or Pre-MOPF, these are very good automobiles. German inspection agencies such as TÜV and DEKRA confirm this as well.
