Hi guys,

i'm planning on buying a new car in April.
I'm 24 years of age, I live in Rotterdam and I own an internet company, which means I don't drive very much.

I come to you guys because I have a very difficult time choosing between two cars:
VW R32 DSG
BMW Z4 3.0i

One has space, which I don't really need because I'm alone.
The other one has the open top sensation in a country where it rains 60% of the time.

Maybe you guys can give me some advice to make my choice a little bit easier.

Thanks alot, looking forward to your input.

Greetings,

Marc

R32.

Probably want to sit in and test drive both, see which one you enjoy being in more if you haven't done so already. Even if you don't drive much and its just for play, practicality can still be a factor in owning a vehicle.

With all the rain, maybe the Z4 coupe might be a better option instead of the roadster. I prefer the R32 for several reasons, but the Z4 is a great drivers car. I like the all-wheel drive of the R32, which might be better for your prevalent rain. Also the exterior and interior appeals to me more. The R32 gets some special treatments and has a bit of exclusivity about it. Even if you are single, you can still pack friends in the backseats or just pack extra stuff if you go on a road trip.

Hard choice, depends on what your needs are. I've driven both cars and the Z4 has a sportier feeling since you sit close to the ground and you only see a long hood with no ending. Also the engine in Z4 is a lot more nicer.

If you need practicality and sometimes want to transport 4 people then R32 is obviosly a better choice.

I would say the R32 since you're saying it rains 60% of the time. However, I feel the R32 is the car that would be more enjoyable to drive with a manual transmission in comparison on an automated one. Hot Hatches are pure fun
