Autobild: BMW 135i vs Audi S3 vs Golf R32 DSG

Ye but people complain about regular BMW's being too stiffly sprung, whilst the S3 is top of the range A3 so stiff is expected. Plus S3 is on a old chassis now, fairer test would be TT-S vs 135i coupe. I think TT would easily beat the 125i around the track ;)

Doesnt matter what people complain on for regular bimmers, this was a test between S3 and 135i and the 135i combine performance with handling and comfort better than S3. Cant you just say that instead of talking about other stuff altough I will probably use the same excuses when next generation A3 comes for sale and being tested against the old 1-series :D but until that day, dont beat a dead horse Poverty :beatdeadh ;) :D

I take it there are not alot of BMW's in your country. In the UK you cannot escape them. BMW company cars everywhere.

S3 design is a oldie but its a goodie. Minimalistic conservative design audi is famous for at near perfection. Just like how people say the audi 80 is still beautiful and looks and has stood the time much better than equivelant bmw or mercedes. :D

Are you out of your mind... I'm sure cars like these aren't classics, but just useless pieces of junk. I'm sure tons of people wouldn't recognize this car at all:

Ok so I don't feel like finding an MB picture now, but those were beautiful. And on that bombshell, I'm done with this.

Here's another one:

I would love if the top of the line 1 series can bring back this sort of spirit.

Old M3's are obviously excluded, im talking about run of the mill models. The cars that actually pay audi/bmw bills ;)

Sorry Poverty, but I too, haven't a clue what you're on about.

Huh?? Audi 80 was a tub, slap on a Mazda sticker from the same period and you couldn't tell the difference. It didn't hold a candle to E30 or E34 or MB W201 or W124. And Audi payed dearly for it. Fortunately they came out with the stunning B5 and turned things around. Any Audi fan should know if not for B5, Audi would have been probably dead.

Another limited edition model. Run of the mill mercs are ugly looking now. And my family had one when they first came out. My family buys mercedes ever since I remember.

Everyone says the Audi 80 is a great design, but obviously you guys know better than the professionals ;)

who are they?

Engineers. With a drag coefficient of 0.29, the old Audi 80 was one of the most aerodynamic cars of its day and still is, actually.

My dad had a black 1990 Audi 80 2.0E (still with the original alloy wheels!) as an everyday car and I thought it looked smart for an old humdrum repmobile.

R32..bah..underpowered,but really nice looking Golf(IMO,it looks 100 times better than GTI version)
S3..bah,bah..good car..but nothing more than that..
135i..hell yeah:bowdown:!!One of the best bemmers out there today:D:usa7uh:

Yep the audi 80 cabriolet and coupe were stunning awesome.

There was a article somewhere of the greatest car designs ever and the audi 80 ranked very highly, and said that to this day it still looks great and has aged well compared to equal bmw's and mercedes.

They also mentioned that it had great aerodynamics :D

I think even whatcar.com has said that the audi 80 easily surpassed the styling of the same gen merc and bmw. I just have trouble finding the articles and that certain picture of the audi 80! :D

I had it ordered in Sedona Red, but then I saw the actual car in that color at an auto show... thankfully... because it's a nasty red in real life, nothing like the website. I expected it to be bright, but it is very dull, even with the metallic. It's a muddy red. The BMW reps weren't all that happy about the Sedona Red either. Some may like it, and that's fine of course, but it's not for me. I almost went with silver, but it's just too safe and too common at this point for me, as I've had many silver cars over the years. It's been twenty years since I owned a white car... so it's long overdue, and the 135i seems like a good candidate to go for the Alpine White... especially after seeing those pics!!

Tagman, I read that you changed your order to Crimson red and beige leather interior and to a Convertible instead of a white Coupé.
