I don’t think so. VW used to offer “the people’s” car. Now the Passat and Golf are much more expensive than Chinese alternatives whilst too close to Mercedes, bmw and Audi in price. However VW will still have a place in the market. They have good reputation, wide dealer network and there will be a decent percentage of the population in Europe who will not buy a Chinese car.It could lead the spearhead of defense counteracting the inevitable unrelenting expansion of Chinese manufacturers in EU markets. The VAG MEB+ Entry products are simply too important to fail.
