M8 [Video reviews] BMW 8er/M8 Coupe, Cabriolet and GranCoupe (G14/G15/G16)

The BMW M8 is the high-performance version of the BMW 8 Series (G15) marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. Introduced in June 2019, the M8 was initially produced in the 2-door convertible (F91 model code) and 2-door coupe (F92 model code) body styles. A 4-door sedan (F93 model code, marketed as 'Gran Coupe') body style was added to the lineup in October 2019. The M8 is powered by the BMW S63 twin-turbocharged V8 engine shared with the BMW M5 (F90). Official website: BMW M
Makes one wonder how magazines are getting 11 seconds @ 129 mph for the M5 Competition on regular asphalt when the M8 can't even break 126 on a prepped dragstrip. Gives credence to what I've heard about ALL manufacturers and press car tunes.

YouTube probably isn't the best source as well as it's impossible to ascertain what state of tune a seemingly 'stock' car is running or what fuel is being used. It complicates things even further when the guy posting the video will have no problem stating that the car is "bone stock"

That GT500 is the bargain of the century.

I would rather see a GTS/CSL that has been gutted than a CS that's just has a bit of extra carbon fiber sprinkled here and there.

Completely agreed. An M8 CS is likely to not have any credible weight-saving measures, carbon fiber here and there and be overpriced. I would like to see as close to a road-going version as possible to the M8 GTE racing car.

Sorry but ... well done Ford?
$ 75,000 to start is a bargain for a Ford Mustang?

Do not get me wrong, I like it as much as anyone, one of the last real cars without restrictions of any kind, that does not laugh at what the world lives and does not care about anything other than leaving marks on the asphalt, but it is the same as usual, this Mustang makes two blocks per gallon, and pollutes almost twice as much as the M8 !, it is a car that does not fit at this time and will be prohibited from driving in most cities in the next two years, put an giant engine with giant superchargers to get 800 horses doing nothing more than a dragster, without any remorse and forgetting the laws that all other competitors are trying to comply with, it doesn't seem like anything "well done", rather it is something of the stone age, same concept used in the 70 'to make muscle cars

Agree. A concept that will not be sustainable and a swansong that underscores the ilks' impending extinction.

BMW really nails its' interiors. They're wonderful places to spend time in.

Alas, several current BMWs' are afflicted with "The Jonah Syndrome". The beholder encounters an unsightly, ungainly, hungry whale that swallows him/her. And then, an appealing, welcoming and generally impressive lair is disclosed-in which the beholder spends three days praying for BMWs' exterior design team to get it right the next time around.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
