Tyre help for my car

Which tyres do you recommend?

Those small safety tyres don't need as much space as a full size spare tyre, plus they are lighter, since they are smaller. So you can "give" those 12.5kg to the spare wheel!

I had a variant of the Goodyear Eagle F1 (not Asymmetric though!!) on my 325i and they were crap... not even mediocre. This is the second time I've got Goodyear in my life and I vow never to buy anything from that brand.... so I would never recommend. But mybe you guys in Europe get a better version of the rubber.

I have the Potenzas (run-flat version) on the my 135i and they kick ass!

I have experience with earlier generation Dunlop SP Sport on my 325Ci, and they are great as well. But that was a while ago and it was a different generation, so keep that in mind.

unless they are the eagle f1 gsd2 gsd3 or the assy they are crap :D

There were alot of chinese copies floating about also about a year or two ago.

In the UK eagle f1 gsd3, assys or toyo t1-rs are easily the enthuasiasts favourite. :D

:t-cheers:

Thats because they stick like shit to a blanket. Honestly I have gsd3's on my car and they have blown away every other iire make I have ever used. Grip so much in the dry and wet. Surely have saved me in some tricky situations!

My new cupra has the bridgestones and they dont grip like the goodyears on my ibiza even though the ibiza has skinnier tires!

I'll say go with the Michelin PS2 tires. I used to use them on my M3, and they're awesome, but downfall is if you drive hard, they easily run out of steam in just 8-10k miles.

I'd say if you don't want to deal with replacement costs, the Goodyear is your best bet. They're great tires.

When the tyre runs flat on the road, in never explodes into pieces while the Brigstone is well known for that and I am not talking about run flats.

Dude that's the first time I've EVER heard that from anyone. May be it's the heat over there that's causing it. I don't think Just_me has to worry about that.

tires

i LIVE HERE IN EUROPE AND I HAVE DRIVEN ON ALL OF THEM, BUT I LOVE THE PERILLI'S I HAVE THEM ON A 2008 C 350 SPORT NICE RIDE HANDLES WELL, VERY NICE GRIP, DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ARE AFTER HIGH SPEED DRIVING OR JUST CRUZING.

Good thread as I am totaly a noob which to take for my GTI
So far I've decided to buy Birdgestone or Continental...

but does the GTI need different size front and back?
 Isn't such stuff only for supercars?

BTW JUST_ME:) HAVE YOU DECIDED WHAT TO PURCHASE ?

WELCOME to you mr. vernon walker

Thanks for answer:)

I did,.................... NOT

Yesterday I bought some Potenza to my 18'' wheels.
225/40-18 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE-050A Y

Hey hey hey buddy, your choice is good too. I already said that I don't mind Bridgestones. The only thing is where I'm at the Bridgestone tires are pretty much same price as the Michelin's tires, so I usually just go with them. But actually, I've also had Kumho tires on my M3 before, and they were pretty good.

Actually Ramen as I remember correctly that was is similar to the firestone case long time back (with Ford) but I think the problem is prominent in hot weather countries. Personally I'd never go with them although I have them on my X6 as OEM tyres.
