The Official Tire Thread - discuss your tyre experience/suggest a good tire

It's the 2019 UHP tyre test from Tyre Reviews.

Noticeable absentees: Pirelli's P Zero, Bridgestone's Potenza and Dunlop's Sport Maxx. To be fair, I think all three are now some ways behind the equivalent favourites from Michelin, Goodyear and Continental.

Put on Continental WinterContact TS 860S on my E63. Absolutely fantastic tyres, while we haven’t had snow here yet, loads of water and the performance is brilliant plus very nice ride and low tyre noise, an absolute winner!

Another concise comparison from Tyre Reviews:
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R VS Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS VS Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R

"The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R are regarded as three of the fastest road-legal track day tyres in the world. To find out which of these three semi slick tires reign supreme, I've borrowed a 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and have use of Michelin's tyre test facility in central France to run my own tyre testing program."

Generally as expected to a point but the time difference between the Trofeo R and Cup 2 R on such a short circuit was larger than thought, and how much difference they made under braking is also considerable in the dry. Terrible in the wet though and the the Goodyear even worse.

I had never heard of this tyre till this video. Goodyear have really upped their game in the last 24 months.
I guess it's a case of an evolving market demand. 20 years ago not that many people went for this kind of extreme rubber but now they're even a stock fitting.
