Chronos The Watch Thread.

Thanks for the feedback Gianclaudio! I (obviously) didn't know of these brands.

Another brand that I follow and I also learnt from either you or @KiwiRob is Steinhart, but I couldn't find them anywhere in Greece. I'd have to order a watch directly from Germany, but I'd prefer to see it in person first.

Wise words to see them in person first. I always try a watch on the wrist before buying. Only then, you know if it’s the watch for you. I’ve had watches that looked absolutely fantastic on my wrist, which, going by the internet photos, I’d never would have considered and vice versa.

The watches from Sinn, that @Gianclaudio mentioned, are indeed quite something. Very good quality for a reasonable price. Sinn are watches made by professionals for professionals without any marketing bullish.t.

is Steinhart
Yes, I've one. Superb watch for the money, two years after I bought it, still under 1 sec/day of deviation
But being so close to a copycat is bothering me. I'm thinking of selling it and get this one, from British brand Christopher Ward:

Beautiful classic, Kiki👍
May you enjoy it for a long time and that it puts a smile on your face everytime you take a look at it.
Same to you ! A few months ago my AD called me to tell me that they had one similar to yours ( white gold ) , but it had diamonds on the markers , and onyx dial , so it was a pass.

But Everose is my favourite . I had some luck with a friend.

I was fortunate to be gifted this unworn vintage Datejust Turn O graph from my father

I don't know too much about this model range, however one thing is for sure, I will never wear it due to the sentimental value.
What a fantastic watch and story. A watch from your father is beyond anything else. And then on tops a Turn-O-Graph in mint/unworn condition.
I added a link for you for some extra information on the watch.

Nomos is making several funky variations of their popular Tangente model..... I want one so much.
Hopefully they make them also in 35mm and not only the 38mm model; as is all dial and with long lugs.

I tried the Orion 38 once and felt the lugs were too long for my thin wrist:

@Gianclaudio
Nomos makes some nice watches. I like their Bauhaus-like design. I do think however, that the lugs are often too long. Especially the Tangente line shows some overly long lugs. Seeing your wrist, it seems you can easily handle a 38 mm, but with those expanding lugs it becomes critical.

Indeed, a Junghans feels better, with very short lug to lug distance:

Wearing this today, an Omega de Ville from the late nineties

Beautiful watch, Mick!
Pre co-axial movement? The De Ville is one of my favorite watch designs, ever.

Thanks, my friend.
It has indeed a pre co-axial movement. It was my father‘s watch and it has the Omega calibre 1120 ticking inside. Some extra info about this caliber: https://www.aurifo.com/ru/a/interesting-facts-about-the-omega-1120-movement
