A side note:

The BMW 5er was the best selling car in its segment in Germany in July 2024. Units sales incl. i5 of some 3212 units topped those of the W214 E-Class + EQE sedan by some 117 units. On a year-to-date basis, the W214+EQE sedan continue to top the chart at 19109 units, exceeding those of the 5er incl. i5 by just under 6000 units. Audi A6 sales are now on a decline, trailing those of the BMW 5ers by just over 500 units on a year-to-date basis. It will be interesting to see how the A6 etrons impact the market. My guess is that it will be the upcoming ICE hybrid A7s that will give Audi sales a far more noticable boost.

I am honestly not sure. The EQE sedan is certainly not being anywhere near as well received as was initially anticipated. I would not be at all surprised if BMW manages to sell more i5 vehicles. But I do not know, really.
