Movies The "I Saw _____ " (Movie) Recently Thread

Watched The Witch. I would give it 6/10. Lots of potential but doesn't really go anywhere. Also the dialogue is really difficult to understand.

The Last Duel (Disney+) - 7/10 Good cast, decent but not great story.

Black Swan (Disney+) - If American Psycho had been a ballet dancer. If he had it wouldn't have been as good, simple as that. Thought this one was overrated. Not terrible, but not worthy of an 8.

Wrath of Man (Prime) - 8/10 Very decent Guy Ritchie film starring Jason Statham.

I'm beginning to think they may have made the end of the Marvel What If series into a film.

Hell Or High Water

A current-day "neo-Western" featuring Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine and Ben Foster. Deeply atmospheric with a tremendous soundtrack arranged by Nick Cave. 9/10

The Matrix Resurrections. 05/10.
Subliminally Weird. It's the Matrix inside a Matrix that's inside a Matrix within a Matrix.

Pluses: Better than Reloaded and Revolutions. More Metaphorical It opens up to where we are today and our dependence on social media that we are hooked up to something like the Matrix.
Because of it's availability on HBO Max in the US. You have platform access to 4K copies.

Minuses: Better call IT to understand what they are talking about. Less Action.

Verdict: I haven't felt indifferent since The Last Jedi. Might have to watch this again to see if I appreciate it on a second viewing?
Although I can't get past the first five minutes of The Last Jedi and have to turn it off because how awful it is. Especially the cringe jokes At the beginning.

The Best by Wes Anderson yet?
Or up there with Rushmore, Royal Tenembaums,Budapest hotel or The Life Aquatic?

Good question. I've only watched the Royal Tenembaums and the Grand Budapest Hotel from Anderson. Actually I rewatched the latter, yesterday.

I'd say that the French Dispatch felt more mature and darker than the Grand Budapest Hotel, but at the same time less complete. I'd give them both the same rating.

I saw it too. As a stand alone movie it's not bad, quite good actually. As a Matrix movie it's pointless.

Spoiler alert:
At the end when the Architect asks them what now. Their reply is "we're gonna change things". Pretty dam pointless.

Can it be streamed? Who owns it?
