The T6 is based on the MQB platform, which is designed for cars only. Almost all components are stressed to their maximum. While the T6 has the longitudinal engine and all components are with resources suitable for comercial application (or with other words the T6 is good for 800 000 km and the T7 for only half of it).Yeah...
I must admit, my opinion of current Volkswagen brand products isn't the most positive. In general, I could not conceive currently favouring a Volkswagen over, for example, a Hyundai Group product. I'm a bit more upbeat regarding Skoda as I quite like the Enyaq. The same would apply to Cupra with its' Born. Audi, of course, is in a more elevated segment-but the value-for-money equation can be dodgy. The Q4 is very nice methinks. But it's also expensive. I'm really looking forward to my first Genesis GV60 "look and see". The IONIQ 5 and KIA EV6 are so impressive.
The new models seem to be losing their practicality and status as effective people carriers compared to older models. The T7 is shit. An absolute shit. No way I would take it over a T6. The T6 is the real thing. A Caddy is a better choice than this Buzz. It looses so much space in its front part. Just look how far behind the driver seats, dexpite having no ICE in front.
My father had three of these, all of them the passenger version caravelle with 9 seats. All of them diesel. What great cars they were. The only two issues were: the floor of the rear luggage compartment was too high due to the engine under it and there was almost no access to the engine for some serious repairs when needed. The new models seem to be losing their practicality and status as effective people carriers compared to older models.
In my opinion the T3 model is still one of the best, with 8seats and huge space inside, it was also a comfortable car on the long road with a 2.1 5-cylinder Passat engine.

Modern day hippies and Surfers would probably just torch this. Can you not import brand new original from Brazil or something?
This might be my only German car I can imagine to buy.

But the old good T5 is still my fav.
I hoped for more clean dash design, but overall the best EV attempt for now IMO.
Your stories are like the embodiment of "la dolce vita" to this American. My German ex-colleagues would have stories like yours and I couldn't help but listen in wide-eyed wonderment and occasionally green-eyed envy. *sigh*My most memorable VW "Bully" experience: Fall of 1974, extended weekend break from the Uni in Munich have me, a co-ed and a buddy driving down to Naples, Italy in his T1 elevated-roof, split windscreen Transporter (a de-commissioned Deutsche Bundespost vehicle he purchased for tupence at an auction). What was normally an approx. 13 hour drive turned out to take nearly 20 hours. Really bad winter weather around the Brenner Pass and a very dodgy generator relais bogged us down significantly. Still great fun and an unforgetable experience (swigging cheap brought along Riesling from the bottle, eating self-prepared Leberkas-Semme, smoking a lot of cigarettes,...). Looking back...what an absolute blast that was !
Agreed. It's been long overdue as VW have teased an electric minibus for years!I like it, it has a fun look and I think the front recreates the original (60´) in a very modern way.
Yes, incredible, it was a close race with the "new M1"Agreed. It's been long overdue as VW have teased an electric minibus for years!
It's not a van, it's "THE MICROBUS", the first, only dynamic and iconic glowIt's not a seven seater like a proper van should be?
Haha true. At one point after the 4th or 5th concept of an electric bus by VW I gave up on the expectations of a release.Yes, incredible, it was a close race with the "new M1"

So it's freakin' useless, that's what it is.
Absolutely. It's a five seater. Who the f*ck needs a five seater in this shape. What 'Minibus'? With 5 seats! Anybody is better off with an estate. So it's freakin' useless, that's what it is.
