intuitive, could be? I just know that they are harder to use than BMW's or Audis...Its much easier when the controls are on the seat so the driver doesnt have to adjust himself in order to reach them. So while the seats moving you dont have to reach further and further to continue moving the seat.

You don't really have to reach that much further to continue moving the seats, maybe 3 or 4 cm max. i am perfectly fine in the E class i don't have to adjust myself when moving the seats all the way back, and those people who really need to move their seat all the way back for extra leg room probably have long arms anyway, so they don't really have to adjust themselves while the seat is on the move.

The position of the seat adjustment buttons are probably a problem for those with a very significant body diameter and relatively short arms, such as 99% of the LA population, according to RICHBOY.

I remember not liking it on my bro's C class but that car is two generations behind now, its probably true that the new ones are better.

Nah, just enforcing a (european) stereotype. And your right, we do work hard and in fact thats we have one of the highest GDPs..

I love the new BMW interior designs with the double wave sat nav flows. I also think that AUDI interior designs have lately improved. Finish wise they were always the best with top notch quality, however they have also started to look modern (e.g the new A5 or the A6).

I can't figure MB out. I love the S class and the CL interiors. They are beautiful, classy and definitely progressive. However, I just cannot get myself to like the new C class interior. Though this car isn't even out in the market, it looks dated. There is nothing new in this design and it seems more like a higher end version of an A or a B class with too many buttons. I really would have liked MB to follow the S / CL design cues for this model, but they haven't. Overall, my 2 cents worth:

1) BMW
2) AUDI
3) MB

I sat in many cars. Including all current MBs, Audis & BMWs available.

My personal opinion:

BMW has the freshest design. When you sit in a BMW cabin you fell the modernity, the dynamics, feeling confidence & self-esteem. All that curves & creases, and asymmetric elements - very dramatic, very avantgarde. I like it very much. Yes, some materials & details are not first class, but its about design not craftsmanship. Siting in a BMW makes you feel you are indeed sitting in a 21st century car.

MB has that very rich feeling inside the cabin. Something baroquesque. With a modern touch. Neobaroque I would say. It has certain personality. Yet the design is a bit too kitschy for my taste. Craftsmanship is very good, details are noticeable. It's a typical MB - beamed into 21st century.

Audi has top-notch craftsmanship. Fit & finish & details are amazing. Best of all three Germans (or four incl Porsche). It looks like they put a lot of effort in the make of interior - its Audis trademark after all. While design is cold & boring IMO. Leaves me cold - while BMW & MB don't. Design is too industrialistic, too technocratic, too machine-like, too car-cliché-like. Feels so 80s / 90s. Don't like it, yet I can imagine many buyers strive exactly for such design.

So ... in the end its all about personal taste. I would choose BMW because it fits me best. And I do not care about shiny little knobs & buttons & "cheap" plastic too much. Yet this will be addressed with F01 7er, and will then spread down the line. :usa7uh:

I'm quite baffled by the results.

I haven't spent enough time in the cars to pass judgment on things like comfort and such, so I'll just concentrate on the design aspect.

Anyway, here's how it goes for me:

1. Audi, by a wide margin. Audi interiors just seem 'right' to me from the get-go. Yes, they're not adventurous by any means but the line between adventurous and gimmicky is not a clear one.

2. MB. Back from the edge of the abyss of poor build quality, recent MB interiors are a relatively pleasant place to be. There are design elements I don't like (such as the steering wheels) and questionable color combinations and little things like that, but overall I'm quite happy with what they've come up with recently.

3. BMW. There's nothing wrong with the build quality or the material choices per se, but pretty much everything BMW is doing these days just goes against my sense of aesthetics.

I think a good number of people got this thread confussed. Maybe they think the question posed was which is your favorite brand.:D
