Hot! Tesla Master Plan Pt.2 (The Next 10 Years)

Give me a reason to be excited about the “affordable” tesla model 2? This is how things will pan out:

-Q4 2025: Release date for US and China - Starting with long range variant at $35k.
-Q4 2026 release date for the entry level variant that inflation and labour cost adjustments will start at $30,000.

By that time you will be able to buy a better equipped or specced used Model 3, alternatively a brand new EV like the Volvo EX30 for less or similar money.
It's not going to be 30k.

25k is the target and it's the only way to go.

Inflations is bollocks. Let's stop pretending that "cars rised in prices because the labour and materials are higher". It's not. It's their profits that went up , and that is the real inflation.

EX30 starts at 35k. 10k over.

Polestar and Volvo too - https://www.engadget.com/polestar-w...to-teslas-ev-charging-standard-144653065.html

And this is funny, looks like SAE, itself is abandoning their own CCS standard and adopting Tesla's -

I just don't get this NACS crap.

First of all , America is not the rest of the world. We in Europe have 3 phase . NACS does NOT support 3 phase.

NACS is just CCS , in a better design. Better design? Sure. But what about all that have 3phase chargers at home?

Would I give up decent charging speed to a better design? Hell no

Ola's spin for "we f#cked up and have no charging network worthy of mentioning, so our customers will be paying a competitor to use theirs" -

Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management Mercedes-Benz Group AG said:
"Our strategic priority is clear: Building the world’s most desirable cars. To accelerate the shift to electric vehicles, we are dedicated to elevating the entire EV-experience for our customers - including fast, convenient, and reliable charging solutions wherever their Mercedes-Benz takes them. That’s why we are committed to building our global Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Network, with the first sites opening this year. In parallel, we are also implementing NACS in our vehicles, allowing drivers to access an expansive network of high-quality charging offerings in North America."

I just saw (for the first time) a model 3 in all its splendor and you can see why it's successful, a compact beauty shared by the large model S and they don't even copy each other.
I don't understand why the Y, and the X seem (or are) so ugly instead.....

Have my 22' Model 3 LR for over a year now. It will always look to me like a 718 Cayman sedan with some Model S mixed it. Performance, technology and ergonomics are unmatched for what it cost. It has been way more reliable than the 13' A6 I had, not a single issue as of yet.

I find Model Y a bit weird design wise though, since I think the design suits a sedan style body. It looks great in grey with some black wheel covers though.

Model Y is more practical. Otherwise,is just a 3…

Model 3/Y are way better in terms of practicality than S (drive them both)

Model S: a beauty
Model 3: just ok. Inoffensive
Model Y and X: ugly balloons; although personally, I find Mercedes and BMW balloons to be even uglier.

Mercs are blobs and Bimmers are angry balloons. Rose tinted glasses do help, however.

As has no doubt been observed, I'm not a fan of the way Tesla operates, but I've zero problem acknowledging that this is a good looking car, and if it's the face of American Muscle in the 2020's, so be it.

The 3, Y and X look like a cancerous malformation by comparison.

The most valuable brands are platforms that enables other businesses to be successful: App Store, AWS, Amazon Marketplace, Azure, Office 365, Salesforce.

Tesla won’t only generate revenue from superchargers but will be able to monetise the eye balls at superchargers. This could include ads for Tesla cars, vending machines, rent out land to fast food businesses. If required, Tesla could eventually sell the supercharging network for billions.

Master Elon at work.

Tesla rolled out cheaper versions of its Model S and Model X vehicles in the U.S. as competition in the electric vehicle space continues to ramp up.

The lower cost versions of both vehicles launched Monday are $10,000 less than the regular model, according to Tesla's website.

The Model X Standard Range starts at $88,490 versus $98,490 for the Model X. The cheaper version has a driving range of 255 miles to 269 miles. For comparison, the Model X has a range of 330 miles to 348 miles and a slightly faster acceleration speed.

The Model S Standard Range starts at a price of $78,490 versus $88,490 for the Model S. The cheaper version of the Model S has a driving range of 298 miles to 320 miles. The Model S has a range of 375 miles to 405 miles.

Tesla continues to focus on gaining market share and boosting sales of its cars at the expense of margins. In its June quarter earnings, the carmaker, run by billionaire Elon Musk, reported operating margins of 9.6%, the lowest for at least the last five quarters.

The lower cost cars are part of a broader drive by Tesla focusing on being competitive on price as auto makers around the world launch electric vehicles and competition heats up.

Tesla has continuously tinkered with its prices in key markets. The company cut prices again for its Model Y and Model 3 cars in China on Sunday."

Etc continues in the link.
