Cybertruck Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck is a battery-electric full-size pickup truck manufactured by Tesla, Inc. since 2023. It was first unveiled as a prototype in November 2019, featuring a distinctive angular design composed of flat, unpainted stainless steel body panels, drawing comparisons to low-polygon computer models.

"VERDICT: A moonshot that's more than skin-deep.

To want a Cybertruck, you have to love the brand of attention that that Cybertruck brings and be willing to live with that even once it becomes a semi-normal sight on American roads. The Cybertruck requires full commitment to not taking anything too seriously as an all-encompassing aesthetic and worldview, on a level that obviates anything going on under the skin—nobody is saying, "I hate the way this looks, but I really love 48-volt electrical systems and steer-by-wire, so I'm gonna buy one." Not everybody wants to drive a piece of rolling performance art, but those who do will be happy to find that they also got a really good truck."

EZRA DYERPUBLISHED: but I really love 48-volt electrical systems
But....why?

It's not something like you can feel/see/taste/touch/interact/etc....

For a manufacturer , yes , it's a thing.

But for an user , why would you love it? It makes no difference....

The only thing that makes this car iconic is the hype. When more deliveries will go on , hype will die , and nobody will notice it.

We live in a mad world , where everybody needs a GT3 RS , G63 and a Cybertruck , but for any other reason that this cars are meant for....

He clearly doesn’t know what iconic means. Everything is legendary, iconic and everyone is the king or queen of this and that. We throw these terms around so much as to render them meaningless now. There ain’t squat iconic about this thing.

I don't see anything special about this product.
A far superior product for a similar price already exists.
The Hummer EV truck has way better range + best towing range of any EV out there, is better off road, is extremely manuevarable for a 5.5m. long barge, has more refined real wheel steering and crab walk, is painted so it's easy to maintain, its SuperCruise is fantastic, is built by a company that actually knows how to build a great truck.

Years after its release the GMC Hummer is still getting glowing reviews and there's a reason for that.
It's the badge that sells the Cybertruck but I doubt it will be a big seller in the long run once all the hype dies down.

"glowing reviews"...Come one man , most reviews are paid...

Both cars are useless. Especially Cybertruck

Hummer is WAY to heavy . And it's biggest issue is the massive battery that takes ages to recharge , a major factor in EV experience.

Do you know how long will it take to charge your 212kWh battery ? Especially in any other charging network besides Superchargers...

Crab walk is stupid and useless. Nobody is offroading an EV , so Hummer with it's 4.4tons is useless in offroading...

I agree with SuperCruise.

Yes , the Hummer is way way cooler.

But again , Hummer EVs biggest issue is the battery and it's power consumption. I heard it takes way over 60-70kWh/100km. For comparison , a normal EV car takes about 15-20kWh/100km.

Having to stay hours on a fast charger ( all night at a home charger ) , is a big no no...

Cybertruck charging speeds are far from great. What I'm saying is if you need a big obnoxious truck you're better off with one that actually does big obnoxious truck things better. Charging at home is plenty enough for most occasions and needs as long as you have a decent range which the Hummer certainly has.
What I love the most about the GMC is that it's a frameless doors convertible, brilliant on sunny days and the only EV option on the market that offers that and can actually haul 4 adults in comfort.
TBH I wish they offered it in a smaller size.

Have I said that Cybertruck is any better?

Both cars are bad in every shape or form ( pun intended )

Maybe a baby Hummer will come. But I doubt , given the current market...

Cybertruck is just a gimmick. To keep the hype up

Hummer EV is just a proof of concept. But that height is just insane ( in Europe there are many countries that would require another type of driver's license for that weight )

Yeah, same here. Can't drive one without a special license. I don't mind driving a big truck in Europe but this one just might be too big when even the law agrees with us.
Regarding both being bad: Drove my aunt's Edition 1 Truck last summer and found it brilliant in many ways.
That's in the US so obviously no experience on European roads with it.
We need more convertible EVs so I don't have to lust after huge boats like these...
