^^^ The SLK engine is a 350 engine with 300 horses, it just hasn't been itnrodduced in a any other model yet, but it will probably be placed in the new E and also the C. The CGI is different.

Its the same engine in the SL350. With 10 more ponies

Well the 6-cylinder in the facelifted SL produces 316 hp and the one in the SLK 350 305 hp… :usa7uh: …so already two cars with this engine and more then 300 hp! Probably the 350 CGI of the CLS 350 with 292 hp will be available for the E!

The 350 engines in SL & SLK aren't DI and reducing CO2 emissions is probably a priority for MB right now. That's why I think they will most likely wait until the new generation V6s (with DI) are ready and then replace the "old" 350 CGI.

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

Why do you think that they are fake?! In my opinion these tailpipes will be available with a Sportpackage again…the angular are standard on the V8 models - this is what they will do with the exhaust systems, in my opinion. :t-hands:

I believe they'll look like this instead ... but I could be wrong.

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

It appears the new break will be ugly as usual.

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

Oh give me a break :D

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

It's as boxy as usual, but on the other hand it's the only break that is really useful.

Errrr....no. The current car already is pretty, and this new one will be even better. The roofline looks much more dynamic and sleek :usa7uh:

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

The current E-Class Estate is too much like the W210 E-Class Estate. That's why it looks "older" than the W211 Sedan IMO.

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

The article confirms what I've been telling you guys all along, the E63 will retain the current engine with pretty much the same output.

Oh yeah, that goes without saying.. AMG engines usually have a 4 to 6 year life span before thay are phased out in the AMG cars.. Thay usually don`t run the 7-year course as the normal Mercedes line.. The M156 is still a new engine.. (come 2012, we should see the Bi-Turbo versions with the crazy hp and torque numbers.)

(In August 2009 probably the production of the successor of the E starts 63 AMG with well-known M 156 with 386 kW/525 HP, 630 Nm and AMG SPEED SHIFT MCT 7-Gang transmission)

Looks like the current power rating of the S-C-SL63 will be found on the E63 (518hp to be exact) I aleady predicted the new MCT 7-G would tricle
down the AMG line..

The new E 63 AMG will have a very little increase of power, that was predictable, and I don´t expect the new M5 to have more than 540 hp, just because it will be a V8 bi-turbo. So a year after the new M5 comes out, Mercedes will present the new AMG engine, with more power than the new F10 M5, they did the same with the current E-Class and the AMG engines.

Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread III (Spy pics & info)

An updated AMG engine might come after 2 years right in time for the next generation SL.
