M6 [Spyshots] BMW M6 Gran Coupe (Spy pics, Info & Impressions)

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M
This is going to be THE hottest 4 door out there. So hot that quite frankly, price alone will not be anyone's primary concern. It's just one of those 'must haves'

Will this be conciderably faster than the CLS 63? Saw a video where the CLS 63 was slightly faster than the M5, but given what I've read on other forums the M6 GC will have the same engine but tuned for slightly more power. Ah, I'd hate for this to be quicker than my fav car.. :D

Those M3 F80 rims, that we also saw on one M6 F08 prototype are the best looking BMW rims ever. The M GranCoupé is off the charts. I don't regret the lack of the CS, though it would still always be nice to see a 860i GranCoupé, even better an M8 GranCoupé with an M V12. I am dreaming and won't be able to afford that, but I am really excited about the M4 GranCoupé; a nice sporty coupé with the practicality of a sedan.

out being way overpriced.......
IMO, the people who buy this over an M5 or E63 or not really, uhm, thinking straight.
But then again, we know everything about badge whores by now.....

You could say the same thing about why someone would pay more for a 6 GC over an E-Class, or CLS over a 5-Series, or a CLS/6 GC over an E-Class/5-Series.

The Panamera is at least a completely bespoke car, so to someone who does like it, there's nothing else like it, True buyers of these cars don't let tenths in race-track tests determine where their money will go. Not only do most not ever take their cars to near such lengths, but most will never exploit near the performance capabilities of any, and technically can't, taking laws into the equation.

Also, the CLS and 6 GC are case in points that it you build a slightly different look over the exact same car, and artificially price it over said Brother cars, making it artificially more exclusive to have, people will follow like sheep and strive to open their wallets to have such a chance.

The Panamera Turbo is a truly unique car. Love it or hate it, there's nothing else like it. It's an actual 4-Door Exotic. Who cares about track tests, it never stopped people from buying Ferrari's over cars that cost much less and perform much better.

No you can't. An E63 is 88k. A Panny Turbo S 175k.
You can't buy two E63s for the price of one CLS 63. The difference between E63 and CLS63 is 6k. 6k! And the difference between M5 and M6 GC will be like 10k

Why don't you look at the facts instead of subjective stuff like this:

The Panamera Turbo is a truly unique car. Love it or hate it, there's nothing else like it. It's an actual 4-Door Exotic

Exotic? Unique?
Firstly, VAG itself already has a copy in the form of the A7, and besides, slapping an odd hunchback on a car makes it unique alright...but in a good way? Nah!
And secondly.....exotic? LOL? I see at least 20 different ones every single day. More than the (new) Cayenne even, another 'exotic' Porsche.

It doesn't share its chassis with anything else, however.

As cars get more higher priced, people can make stronger arguments as to "why would you pay this much, when you can get the exact same functionality from a car that costs 25% it". The Panny is a different breed than most out there, hence why people have such a hard time pinpointing just who it competes with. That different breed is also why it gets panned by so many people.

Fact is, when manufacturers price cars higher than others, much of the "appeal" of the cars is that said price ranges make them un-accessible to the masses. I also think the Panny Turbo is insanely priced, but I also think the 650i is insanely priced. I'm one of those buyers who see's with my own eyes and through them, I feel that with an E-Class or 5-Series, you get all the stylistic refinement, and the general core of the vehicles that are based off of it, yet artificially priced much higher, so I choose them. Obviously the fact that these cars being more "bargain priced" makes them accessible to more doesn't bother me, but it does to some, and to them, the 6GC comes into effect.... then to those with even more money and who seek more exclusivity, the Panny Turbo comes into effect, etc. etc.

Basically, people don't buy cars based on their functionality or statistical merit, sometimes for better, and sometimes not.

This will be incredible! The 6 GC has already been said to handle better than the regular 5 Series, and if this improves on the M5 to a similar degree it will be epic:D And agree with klier, this should have Full LED's as standard, its the flagship ///M ;)
However I think I'll prefer the M5, it'll be noticeably cheaper, more practical and I'm positively in love with the way the F10 looks, particularly the M5, more so than the 6 GC. IMO the GC just looks so loooong, and I prefer the 5ers more masculine styling

^^

Saw a GC 650xi for $132K at the dealership, I can only imagine how much they would want for this:Grandma perhaps.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
