S-Class [Spyshots] 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.
Frankfurt, count on it. It will be on sale before the end of the year, thats usually how it goes with the sedan and coupe S models.

While a presentation in Frankfurt at the IAA 2013 would be grand, Geneva 2014 appears to be a more likely venue.

The sooner-the better. I am anticipating something truly monumental in terms of athletic elegance. And perhaps the most visually enticing large Mercedes-Benz 2 door, 4 seat automobile in history.

Frankfurt is the best motorshow. It makes Geneva look so small !

Would be great to see it unveiled in it's homeland. Mercedes' stand at Frankfurt is simply AWESOME-

I bet it will be Frankfurt, the biggest and in their own backyward, plus the coupe always goes on sale about 6 months after the sedan.

Yeah... it is busy, even on those more expensive press day tickets.

Plus, in Switzerland I get more access to lounges... but Frankfurt is still really impressive.

I've never been to Frankfurt on anything other than a press day ticket and it's quite frankly RIDICULOUS how busy it is. God knows what it's like on other days.

Yeah that does look hot. Hopefully those side creases are not as severe as they look.

I'm confused, MB left the ponton fender on the E coupe and the CLS and now it looks as though it won't be featured on the S coupe. I guess that design moment has passed...

The pontoon fender was a mistake, I think. I think Mercedes decided to keep it on for the coupe and cabriolet because of cost considerations (the additional cost of making tools for new quarter panels for two low volume models may not have been entirely justifiable). Also, the coupe and cabriolet have less "metal" to the eyes (that is, the coupe is shorter and lower than the saloon and the cabriolet has no roof) than the saloon model that the pontoon fenders still work quite okay on them.

Pontoon fenders only work on a large, wide, and low car like the BMW Concept CS (the stillborn 8-series).
