Quality looks pretty fine up close, but really one has to see and touch it firsthand...

They don't need to mention that. It's obvious when you compare the C-Class with the 3er and A4. This is the finest interior on this segment ever.

I think he was talking about the screen, and it is worth mentioning because BMW has the best screens of the whole car industry. What is the resolution of this screen in the C class???

The w204 was arguably a segment leader. It won a fair share of it's comparisons, not to mention market share, against the 3-series and A4. In 2007 it won car of the year here in Oz and throughout its life has been consistently considered by the motoring press as one of the finest all round vehicles available regardless of price point. The ride and handling compromise seems to match our conditions perfectly.

Gents have there been any news articles out yet on the engine spec details for the New C-Class? I think the 4 cylinder diesels are long due for an upgrade, that 2.1 motor has been out since 2008. I hope they increase the C220 CDI to 135kw to match the 320d and upcoming Audi 2.0 TDI. The 4 cylinder petrols also need upgrade to more power and torque, the C180 needs 125kw and 270nm to match Audi A4 1.8 TSI, C250 needs 180kw to match 328i

As petrol engines the new M274 in the 1.6 and 2.0 liter version will be offered. The diesel engines of the OM651 ECO is available, which probably complies with the Euro 6 standard without AdBlue. After the E 300 and S 300 BlueTECHybrid this combination will also be available in the C-Class. Lateron an M274 derivative with 252 hp + electric motor could be offered or even a plug-in hybrid version with the 2.0 liter petrol engine.

There will also be the C 400 with 3.0 liter V6 BiTurbo. AMG will later offer a 4.0-liter V8 BiTurbo. Some models are also coupled with the new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic. Translated from http://www.jesmb.de

The average price of the CLA in Silicon valley is $38K . You may have to order the basic model. Just too expensive nowadays.

Jeez... A black interior with no wood and the whole central console, the doors trim and the trim across the dash on aluminium would be PERFECT.

if it is a real photo, than it must be a cabrio. Just compare it with this picture.

The seat control in the cabrio does not have two separate switches for the bottom of the seat (so it is not probably the highest possible equipment) but the buttons in front of the seat control have three buttons instead of two in the sedan.

So cabrio is coming, there were rumours that c based cabrio wont make it into production.

I believe the E-Cab will move upmarket and leave room for a C-Cab to take on the 4-Cab.

That all but has to happen now. The C is going to become a full line up it seems, sedan, coupe, wagon and convertible, that means no more C-Class based E Coupe and convertible. I can't wait to see the next E put the order back like it was during the days of the W124, where you payed a premium for the coupe and convertible, not the same price as in the current car for a lesser vehicle...i.e. a CLK.
