I wonder how did MB solve the issues of corrosion between having two different type of metal coming in contact with each other.

I thought the new C will get the largest screen in his class. Anywhere I have read the screen will have 8,4 inches. That would be smaller as the F30-screen with 8,8 inches. Or I´m wrong with my informations?

The writer may have been too enthusiastic? The press release merely states: :)

A centrally positioned free-standing central display is the main eye-catching feature across the centre console – with a screen diagonal of 17.78 centimetres (7 inches) or 21.33 centimetres (8.4 inches) if COMAND Online is specified. The larger version is made of bonded glass and galvanised with a frame in silver shadow. Thanks to its ergonomic positioning, the eye easily adapts to the central display.

For hybrid construction MB typically uses an adhesive with anti-corrosion properties to bond different metals. Learnt this from recent discussion on MB Passion. :)

Will be matter of weeks/months instead of BMW M where it takes 2 years ;)

With 4:3 dimensions? Dear me...
C class style for me please!

Interested to know why 4:3 dimensions make a difference? 16:9 is de rigueur in the home because that's the best way to view a television. This is a sat nav screen and the requirements are totally different. Having used both iDrive and MMI extensively, I find the Audi screen a better shape for displaying info and the route (although overall I prefer iDrive). I think it's better because when in 3D route mode you can see more of the route in front of you. Arguably the best shape is that to be found in the new McLarens. I don't know why more car manufacturers don't do it the same way they do.

I just dislike the 80s style screen sticking out like a square. It looks old and you can't put much info on it without cluttering the screen.

A screen doesn't have to be 16:9, just not 4:3. Anything but that, unless perhaps it's fitted somewhere in the middle of the console like older cars, but they don't do that anymore. Ever since the E65 BMW 7er, screens are on top...

CarandDriver had the chance to sit inside the new C class
It all adds up to an interior that, compared to the BMW 3-series‘, feels better built and nicer; and placed against the minimalist Audi A4’s squishy insides, it carries far more style. Literally the only disappointment was the center-console door covering the cup holders; it’s laser-cut from the surrounding trim during production to ensure grain-matched visual perfection, but Benz leaves the sharp edge uncovered and doesn’t add much meat to the door itself, lending it an insubstantial and unfinished feel. Run your hands over the many other surfaces, however, which include thin splashes of chrome, aluminum, expansive soft-touch plastic, and the leather door uppers and dash top, and your fingers won’t be disappointed.

Whats the hold up?
You can't show a stunning interior like that without showing us the exterior. Perhaps MB is more proud of the interior than the exterior?

No they did the same thing with the CLS and S class i think they do it because of auto shows, if you know what the exterior looks like via internet its no need to flock to detroit to see it.

I like the new interior. It looks really modern and luxury. But there are two details I don´t know if I´m liking that or not: the screen and the vents. The design at the BMW free standing screens is more my taste. And the vents are stand out to much. The vents on the S-Class are more integrated in the cockpit. But who knows like it looks in real life.

A better view of the screen and the vents. :)

In the CarandDriver review they mentioned that the clarity is the best in its class:)

They don't need to mention that. It's obvious when you compare the C-Class with the 3er and A4. This is the finest interior on this segment ever.
