The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. Alternatively, the new C-Class is the first vehicle in its segment that can be fitted with an air suspension (AIRMATIC) on the front and rear axles. Thanks to electronically controlled, continuous variable damping at the front and rear, it offers outstanding road roar and tyre vibration characteristics even with the vehicle loaded. The driver can use a switch to select between the various damper characteristics: "Comfort", "ECO", "Sport" and "Sport Plus". The additional "Individual" setting allows the driver to configure the vehicle to suit their personal preferences.

AIRMATIC also features all-round self-levelling for optimum ride comfort even with the vehicle loaded. It automatically regulates the ride height as a function of speed and can, for instance, reduce fuel consumption and improve active safety by lowering the vehicle at motorway speeds. The ground clearance can also be increased at the push of a button using the ride height adjustment switch on rough roads or poor access roads.

Since neither the air struts at the front nor the free-standing air springs at the rear are responsible for wheel location and need to absorb transverse forces, AIRMATIC offers outstandingly comfortable driving characteristics which are otherwise the reserve of the luxury segment. It smooths out for passengers expansion joints, patches of asphalt and undulating asphalt caused by trucks braking at traffic lights.

Love it!

This interior is such better looking than the new S-class. I migth go too far by saying its the best looking interior in the segment.

^Yes jezus

that is a stupendous interior..especially for this class..

The transition from door panel to front panel is amazing..

the simplistic style of the center console along with that clock is just eye candy.

The new command touch controller looks superb.

Steeringwheel looks to good, and i thought they couldnt make one that looks better than the one i have in my car.

Its just great, all of it.

Now im just hoping for an exterior to match..

And you know me, i just had to do this:

Interior looks stunning and as mentioned in the press release, two different types of interiors for cars with a manual and auto. The manual cars wont have a one piece centre console but will be like below

I would market a special C350 Sport with a 355hp version of the 3.0L turbo V6 and suspension tuned by AMG. The C350 AMG Sport, but with no AMG badges on the trunk. This is soley for going after the S4, IS350 F-Sport, 335i and ATS 3.5. I expect Lexus to update their engines for 2015, a new turbo 4 and some type of upgraded V6.

Will there be any engineered by AMG version of the C, like the A250? This design with an AMG version will be a killer product.

Agree. AMG may apply their east-west 360hp I4 in a north-south C 450 AMG Sport or maybe a GLC 450 AMG Sport? :)

Moers also couldn’t dismiss the shift to downsizing engines may force AMG to adapt the 265kW/450Nm four-cylinder - which produces more power but less torque than the company's 5.4-litre V8 did a decade ago (260kW/530Nm) - from its front-drive transverse (east-west) layout into a conventional application so it can be fitted to vehicles above those based on the A-Class platform.

“That is part of the strategic discussion for the future and that is not just a Mercedes or AMG trend, downsizing is something that is facing everyone in the automotive industry,” he said.

“What we have in the east-west application in the A, maybe it is possible for the future to have this engine in a north-south application. There is nothing decided or under development, but that’s what we have to discuss.”

yes the new c is the best looking in the segment. But it is not the best looking but the biggest that will sell well in china!

Sure W201, but W205 is growing (+ 9 centimetres wheelbase). It's going to be about the same size as W124 was. Never heard anyone complaining that this was too small.
I'm also very interested in which way MB is going with the next E-Klasse :)
it has to be big to sell well in China. The chinese got no taste for car

^Welcome back!

Benz is putting all of it's forces together to get you out of that 6 series and back into the Benz family. If you're excited now, just wait until the release the S-coupe AMG. ;)

Oh the BMW stays, but the Lexus may have to go next year for a C55 or whatever the call the AMG model.

VI-VA-KIIIIIII!!!!!

Nice to see you.

How awesome is this new C-Klasse's interior folks? It's just the round vents that bug me ever so slightly...

tiffany pollard aka "Newyork" from flava flav is the stripper with the wineglass
I googled it..... I don't know what Flava flav, but it sounds like some type of kebab or something you'd buy at the gas station. That woman is suffering from a few personality disorders. Poor thing.

That interior is a bit different from the new pics posted on www.worldcarfans.com

The second photo gives a more coherent interior design offering superior combination of material and textures although they are quite similar. The center console design appear to be one piece rather than two and therefor is more fluid and flowing compared to the 1st picture of the interior imo. The door panels also are better designed in the second picture. These minor differences offer major improvement in the overall design of the interior. The free standing screen look a bit uncomfortable and as add on. I wish it could be retractable like in the pre-facelifted C class at least to be out of sight when it is not required but from the picture it appears that it is going to be fixed.

I hope that the second picture presents the real interior of the C class. If that is the case it will be my favorite among all the compact 4 door saloons/sedans. Currently I rate A4 interior the best but apart from the freestanding screen this interior would be my favorite. Lets see what Audi has for the next A4.

^One is the manual, the other the Automatic. I guess in the Automatic the cup holders are under that door.

The center console design is also different and the new picture has that in one piece which is a MAJOR improvement over the Zebrano equipped two piece design of the earlier picture. I guess for me that is the big improvement. The door panels are also different.
