^ R.I.P. the car that could have been ... No production car was such a letdown since the Ferrari Scaglietti, another concept (drawing, actually) that wrote a check that got turned for NSFW,

Looks like the F800 introduced this headlight DNA to MB? :)
It's a research vehicle and like the concept vehicle above not intended for series production.

LED headlights give the F 800 Style an expressive “face”

A “shining” example of technological and design innovation at Mercedes-Benz is offered in the truest sense of the word by the powerful LED headlights in the F 800 Style. The combination of fiber optics and state-of-the-art LED technology lends the vehicle a striking appearance. Along with the wide radiator grille and the generously curved air intake openings, the LED headlights emphasize the dynamic nature of the research vehicle. The headlights are divided into individual segments for daytime running lights, turn signal indicators, and primary headlights.

Regarding the interior: do you think C class will have normal speedo (just like it has now, but in different form and shape) AND digital, S-class-like, as an optional extra?

BMW F30 doesn't even have LED blinkers and brakes. Worse even, Bi-Xenon is optional.

Let me tell you, I for one will jump of joy if M-B introduces the W205 with Bi-Xenon as standard and LED's as an optional extra! So BMW and Audi can follow suit.

By end 2014 (And it's time the Premium OEM's take note and stop the ripp-off!!) it should be mandatory for OEM's claiming they are the makers of premium cars to have Bi-Xenon as standard equipment.

......IDEA! maybe we as a respected forum must write a letter to the EURO-NCAP, getting them to make it law of fitting Bi-Xenons for premium cars, like Airbags in the late 80's or ABS etc.:sneaky:

^

I really doubt it, since E Class has halogens + LED as optional extra.

The same is going to be with C Class.

We'll have to wait and see what BMW and VAG will do.

^
I think it could be M-B's time to shine introducing anothe first by fitting their famous C-class range and the W205 at that to be the "first for the future range of M-B cars introducing Bi-Xenon as Standard Equipment - for enhancing road safety by night and LED Daytime running lights by day"

^
How's that DAIMLER!!?? Come on now, not so hard is it!?o_O

^ Doubt BiXenons will be offered. Looks like halogens will be standard and F800 Style inspired LEDs optional.

Here's a comparo CLS vs F800 Style

Although I used to like the CLS headlights quite a bit when first introduced, they now look maybe a bit too techy and rectangular when compared to the more flowing F800 LED style.

Hello! I'm from Russia Apologies for the poor knowledge of the English language:) . On some photos headlight design looks different. What do you think. thanks

It looks to me as if someone was snooping on private Mercedes-Benz winter testing grounds. This reminds of the area full of trees where they tested W166 and R172 undisguised during development. Are these possibly illegal? Anyways, it looks exactly like I thought it would after those white FEP photos from February.

They are trying to get clever, but they already failed to hide it well with the white prototype. The headlight shape still looks the same underneath that disguise.

Mercedes have really upped their game in the last couple of years, they got the much needed kick up the backside and they are addressing the issues they once had. I'm impressed

It must be better than that

it might well be. According to what looks like the first of many semi-official briefings by M-B in the run-up to the W205's launch at the NAIAS/Geneva next year Autocar is reporting that the new C-Class will "weigh significantly less than 1400kg" - compared to 1,400 kg kerbweight for the current base C180 petrol.

On the engine front, it looks like the current maximum 204 PS output from the 2.1l diesel will be upped to 220 PS. The AMG will get the new 4.0 litre V8 bi-turbo engine.
