Actually K-A, IMHO I do like the look of familiarity within one OEM's range very much.

When I was a young little chap already car 'mad' (a Benz one at that) I prayed that the next generation i.e. SL or S-class will have the same instrument cluster or rather an evolution of the previous generation's instrument cluster etc. Especially when one got a small spy photo of a certain test mule in car mag (the days before - internet):D ...And I am only 36 years old!

That is why (call me old school) I like 'retro' i.e the new Mustang, Camaro and being a BMW guy also cars i.e. the 5er F10 which brings back memories of the old E39...cars we want to relate to;)

Also your E-class which should NEVER be revolutionized never, ever!

That is why I despise the instrument cluster of the current S-class and hate what I see in the spy shots of the next generations instrument cluster. When you get behind the wheel your eyes should see analogue. There are very good OEM suppliers of big i-pad like screens for center console or dash top use out there;)

I like modern! Clothing, shoes, gadgets you know...all the modern sh!t, give me new modern materials i.e carbon fiber, alcantara and plush natural hide and incorporate it into something as perfect as this....and tell me this is how Benz will do an S-class cabin.

:t-cheers:

Now I got your point Human. But, I think that`s not a problem, sharing the climate controls or any parts. I think that MB has the most different interiors between their cars in the lineup compared to Bmw and Audi. I agree that those companies have a problem with that.

I don`t like the interior of that Bugatti. But let`s stay on pic. On this latesc pics it seems like this car isn`t camoed too much, isn`t it ? Il ike the proportions but I got no idea about how it will look like. I expect to see some modern design at this one as it will be launched in 2014. I want to see some innovating design. C class might be perfect for this theme.

Why won't MB start adding some nice wide screen Nav screens? Really starting to get annoyed with these small navi screens compared to competitors like Porsche, Audi, and BMW.

I think the Lexus GS 2012 has the largest screen, about 10".

I want the W205 to have a real, proper coupe version like BMW and Audi have,

The only one with a stand-alone coupe is Audi. The C-Class and BMW 3-Series coupes share in the same parts bin as the sedans.
The Audi A5 is a more upscale car than the A4.

and I want MB to drop the E-class coupe and make a real E coupe to compete with the 6er.

The 6-series and CLS were neck and neck for a while. Both models sit above their midsized luxury-sedan sisters. Now BMW introduced the 6GC 4-door coupe to compete with the CLS.
What should Mercedes do,Create a new model by cutting the two doors off the CLS to create a proper 6-Series compeditor. if thay did that thay would have to drop the CL I guess...:eusa_doh:

I was actually looking at one next to me today. Yes, the front has a presence that every Merc does (or should), but the sides of the C-coupe, being the greenhouse and whole door/window area, is just absolutely disgusting to these eyes…..

K-A, some of your our posts are so picky it`s almost chronic to read them of late... Take a chill pill and relax.

We agree very much on these things, my friend, nice to have you around. :D

The CLS is a beautiful car with some unfortunate flaws.... the C204 looks like they gave a W204 to now-ex Pontiac Designers, and said: "Work your magic". The whole car bothers me.... well, the parts that are modified from the W204.... as the W204 is a home-run for what a C-Class should be. The E-Coupe isn't my favorite Benz either, but the greenhouse is at least Benz!

Exactly: "Sexy". The 3er and A5 are, the C-Coupe, not at all. Honestly, I've seen more Grandma's driving the C-Coupe around here than anything.... I'm not even kidding.

I know, I know! By the way, I'm keeping the "ex Pontiac designers" part for my signature, lol

I'm always relaxed. Just picky. ;)

Disliking the C-Coupe doesn't make you picky, btw. The thing is a joke compared to the 3er Coupe, especially considering it came out at the end of the E92's lifespan. Color-contrasted interior stitching and a standard Pano roof (in U.S) are nice gimmicks to try and bandaid a design with heavily dated cues for something released in 2012 (Accord/Sunfire greenhouse, for one), but my eyes see right through it. :D

About the W205, do we some some hard crease on the C-Pillars, right on the sides of the rear windshield? Or is that some weird chamo effect.

Yes, C class coupe looks less special than the 3 series coupe. But, I understand how MB think their strategy here. E coupe is rival with the 3 series coupe and A5. They tried to make a coupe for customers who don`t have money for the E coupe, and they make it less special than the E coupe because his cheaper than the E coupe. They make the C coupe for young customers which are known for not having money to buy some E or S classes. They made a cheaper MB for younger customers and that car must not cannibalize the E class coupe. You want to be fancy go buy E coupe.

I agree buddy, however the E coupe is more expensive than A5 or 3er coupe; and then, why Mercedes would make a "less special" car? I mean, is a Mercedes, they should be head and shoulders above the rest. They did that way for 110 years......

He makes a hell of a lot more sense than you have ever done. You post nothing but fantasy, just look at the quote above. Utter nonsense.

I think the Lexus GS 2012 has the largest screen, about 10".

BMW has 10.2", don't know about Lexus nor do I care really.

Yeah, it will be difficult to design a nice looking interior wih a screen bigger than that.

The new S will have huge screens too as we all know, MB is joining the bandwagon I think.

Me neither :t-cheers:

BUT here is the facts - 2012 Lexus GS 350 12.3-inch split screen navigation display.

Ok, the screen size is impressive, but that interior looks mindblowingly horrible.

Lexus screen bigger than K-A's tv confirmed? ;)

Now I could steal Lexus' Screens and replace my TV Sets. :D

I don't see how such a HUGE screen can't be a distraction? With all that light shining and taking the attention of your eyes? M-B's screen's are quite small to today's standards, but it's just something that doesn't bug me in the least, I find it well fit and thoughtfully sized in a functionality sense, and I even had to turn the Brightness down on it as even a screen of that size right in your line of sight proved to be a bit distracting/"right there" to the eyes. Still, can't help but notice when I was in an F10 that the screen and graphics on their own were like X-Box VS Merc's Nintendo V1. :D

The wider screens do allow for more info to be shown. Like on my X5, I can have Nav and Radio info half and half. Or Radio info and direction of travel. It's really handy.
