The materials, fit and finish look fantastic...but that integration (or lack thereof) the screen is just terrible. No longer is a screen an add-on option, it's a standard feature, and as such, it should have been done a lot better.

I'm a big advocate of having a better integrated screen. But in this instance, I'd be able to overlook it.

I'm saying it will be so we disagree. The basic interior appears to be better than the 3-Series cheapness. To kill the segment can mean many things, doesn't have to be a loaded car either. Loaded up with everything in both cars, the C appears to be the better car interior wise easily. Period.

WOW looks superb.
Love those red seats.
The front grill on the blue car looks to have a massive presence.
I ususally like to go for avant-garde grill on the C class but with this one it would be a very tough choice between this two grills..This is definitely in terms of looks the best in class in my view both in and out..Superb..Yes I wish it was not as close to the S class and I admit I was one who bad mouthed BMW and AUDI now seems Mercedes has joined the party atleast the interior is different.

Like a base 3-Series is something to behold.

As base models go, the base F30 is one of the best looking cars on the market. Terrific road presence, great proportions, no over-styled details.

The 3 doesn't even drive worth a shite anymore.

I like everything about the C-class, except for the rear. I think its hideous and looks like something from Bentley/RR. I dont know but I don't like it. The best part must be the interior , its gorgeous.

The interior is just on a different league. But the exterior is so close the S-Class it's not even funny. This is the perfect example of what NOT to do with the design of your biggest and smallest cars, you can't make them identical.

And the problem is the S-Class is stunning inside out, but it's design is made for a big saloon. On this C the design looks to serious. It should have been closer to the F800.

The AMG pack makes it look very good, but it would have been even better with its own design theme.

I wasn't speaking on just looks Martin. I meant the drive and the interior. The loaners I've had were clearly nothing special, 320i and 328i. Cheap interiors, hard flat seats, no bluetooth in the 320i, yuck.

It´s by no means an ugly car, and it has a terrific stance and proportions, but its face is just not my cup of tea, and the rear end is too tame. The interior is the perfect example of what NOT to do with a small sedan interior. Just using the entire 1er interior and changing the trim location to differ a little bit is not enough for the 3er.

Marcus, do you really feel that a 328i doesn't drive well? If so, please impart an explanation of your opinion because I have not read a single review from a credible source that criticises the way the F30 drives.

Yes, the W205 looks to be the 3er's best competitor ever with svelte styling and clearly more special interior. But there's one area in which every 3er out does the W205 - the powertrain department. The ZF8 gearbox and entire engine range in the BMW is superior to the older technology in the W205. People are making out like this car is the coming of the messiah.

The W205 looks to be bringing new-found levels of refinement to the class but I sincerely doubt anything significantly more.
