GT [Spy Shots] Mercedes-AMG Four Door Coupe

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
You guys have seen the full interior? If so, I think the rest of us would like to see it.

To their defense, the top of the dash in some of the pictures is a giveaway. I was hoping for a slightly different AMG GT interior.

What are those assembly line pics supposed to be showing? If that is the actual interior I'm going to puke. I mean really. E-Class Coupe/CLS with likely the center console from the AMG GT 2-door?

Well I hope you're near a toilet.

Would have been better to do a S Coupe interior with the AMG GT central console, more special.

This AMG GT4 interior is too common, E class, E coupe, CLS, and who knows where will follow.

The Mercedes parts bin mix and match game continues. Notice the gear selector is absent at the steering column, and most likely going to be placed at the same location as the AMG GT.

That’s a given. The console is central to the connection with the GT. Part of me wishes Benz did something Panamera like with rear seats.

Someone asked if the it's a transaxle; it's based off the E-class, so the logical answer would be no.... Actually here is the official reason from Tobias Moers:

For starters, the name of the car is still a working title. Mercedes-AMG chief Tobias Moers confirmed to Motoring that this hot sedan will be based on the E-Class platform. AMG decided against using the AMG GT platform for a sedan because the rear transaxle would sacrifice too much leg room in the back seat, which would kind of defeat the purpose of the car being a sedan.

MB used to have the flowing center console w/ 2+2 with the gen 1 & 2 CLS, but customers demanded 5 seats, so that was the end of that.

It made for a more "intimate" interior design, but nowadays it makes no R&D sense. I expect the them to just give it E rear seats like the CLS and call it a day:

I was a big fan of this:

MB better pull a Houdini with this interior.

You guys are setting yourselves up for a huge disappoint the day the official photos are released:D.

I'm holding out until the next GLE to see a significantly different take on the currrent MB interior design language.

They did surprise us with the previous CLS' interior, so there's hope.
But if this is it, then they should name it the AMG GT-E then :D

@Wolfgang; I noticed the scoop you posted, then deleted :joyful:. I added the engine output figures.

AMG GT Panamerica - I6
AMG GT Panamerica S - 4.0L V8 (570bhp)
AMG GT Panamerica R - 4.0L V8 (603bhp?)

I think most of us have forgiven the CLS because the exterior is so hot and vastly different in character to the E.

I’m hoping the different central console creates enough distance from the other E class interior variants. That said I would have preferred they had used the S coupe interior as a the base as its far more special.
