It's more X6 coup-ish than traditional boxy. It's going to be stunning. When are Ferrari going to make their own Suv not if.

Absolute homerun. This car will sell. And most importantly Lamborghini has been preparing everything for the launch such as dealers, CI, production, logistics, sales, etc.

Looking at what shit Bentley and Rolls Royce have put or will be putting out in the ultra high end SUV segment this will kill it.

I mean Jesus Christ, I had an absolutely mortified black Bentayga owner tell me that he was driving in South Kensington (London) and a woman tried to hail him because she thought he was driving one of Londons black cabs. He's been trying to get rid of the car since. For that kind of customer such an experience is terrifying.

Given the current information on the Rolls SUV, it won't be much better than the Bentayga.

Hate Lambo for going into this segment again but they will make MONEY.

Horrible render...but gives an idea

I agree 100%. If the Lambo SUV is going well (which it will) Ferrari is coming to market with an SUV. I'd bet my savings on it.

I wonder if there will be a V10 or V12 option? It just has to be more than the standard Audi V8 offered in this thing.

They will probably charge $4 mill for that version.

I think it is appropriate that Lambo is making an SUV, since they have already built one. It would be very weird if Ferrari came out with a "Superfast" SUV out of nowhere.

V10 or V12 would be sexy but those engines are heavy. It wold be ashame if the Urus is a pig outrun in corners by the Cayenne Turbo S. I do agree that a V8TT isn't exciting enough unless it will be an entirely new engine.

Both the existing V10 and V12 develop peak torque above 6,500 RPM. In order to be viable for an SUV they would have to be reworked to deliver max torque closer to 2,000 RPM.

Rumors suggest the 4L v8 TT from Audi and a higher hp version of the 4L diesel v8.

With a new Cayenne and Bentley CGT around the corner, we should see new petrol station V8TT engines from VAG. The one in the GT3 version of the CGT has an exciting exhaust note but is a bit low on torque against the V8 in the Cayenne Turbo S.

Lamborghini Urus SUV will be a 'super sports car inside an SUV'

The upcoming Urus SUV will offer up supercar performance in an new form for Lamborghini

Lamborghini is about to become the first top-end supercar manufacturer to bite the bullet and launch an SUV – following in the footsteps of cars like the Porsche Cayenne and Bentley Bentayga. The Lamborghini Urus, as the new car will be known, will feature classically outlandish Lamborghini styling mated to a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing over 600bhp. It’s set to be on sale by the end of the year.

Those with an eye on the history books will remember that this isn’t actually Lamborghini’s first SUV. Back in the late eighties, the brand experimented by producing the LM002 – the result of a project to produce a military vehicle. It used the V12 engine from the Countach, and offered the most luxurious interior Lamborghini had ever put in a car – but a combination of sky-high running costs and challenging styling meant it was consigned to the history books by 1993. Lamborghini bosses will be hoping for a rather more successful outcome from the Urus.

Urus means ‘auroch’ – an ancient European wild ox, which ties in well with the raging bull emblem on the Lamborghini badge. And raging it will be – the Urus will feature just as much supercar technology as every other model in Lamborghini’s range, with the performance to match.

Key to this will be the Urus’ 600+bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which will put its power to the road through a dual-clutch gearbox and four-wheel drive. Lamborghini is also said to be experimenting with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, marking the brand’s first steps into electrification. This is a highly significant move as the technology could filter into Lamborghini’s other cars, opening the door to electrically assisted supercars in the same vein as the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The fundamentals of the Lamborghini Urus’ underpinnings will be shared with the Porsche Cayenne, but expect Lambo to set its chassis engineers loose with the remit of turning the Urus into a truly sporting SUV.

In addition to this, the Lamborghini Urus will feature a similar four-wheel-steering system to the Aventador S, plus electronically controlled dampers to allow owners to choose between extra comfort or a firmer, more sporting ride.

Lamborghini won’t be chasing massive sales volumes with the Urus straight away. Company boss Stefano Domenicali told Auto Express: ‘We need to be humble. We need to start step by step because it’s a new world for us.’

He continued however by saying that the Urus could account for more than half of Lamborghini’s global sales by 2019. It’s got plenty of competition though – with the likes of the BMW X5M, Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 providing rip-snorting performance for a fraction of the Lambo’s anticipated £180,000 price. The Bentley Bentayga offers a different focus on comfort rather than cornering, but it’s every bit as exclusive and exotic as the Urus will be.

Whether you like the idea of a Lamborghini SUV or not, it should be good news for petrolheads – the capital produced by a big-volume seller will hopefully fund the continued and greater investment in the company’s line of supercars and hypercars. This is the same route Porsche took with the Cayenne, and it’s proved to be one of the German company’s biggest success stories.

The Audi RS6/7 Plus powerplant would be perfect for this car as it produces almost the same power 605PS as the Huracan V10 (610PS) but with notably more torque over wider rev range.

They should offer a special track focused FWD only version similar to what they did with the 550-2.
Scandinavian flicks galore!

Exclusive images of bold new Lamborghini Urus SUV shows how it could look when it arrives in late 2017

The new Lamborghini Urus SUV will cost from around £180,000 when it goes on sale by the end of the year, and it’s set to produce over 600bhp from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, Auto Express can reveal.

Described by company boss Stefano Domenicali as “a super sports car inside an SUV”, and previewed in our exclusive images, the newcomer is due to be officially revealed in the summer. It’s one of the most controversial models in Lamborghini’s 54-year history, and will cost approximately the same amount of money as a Huracan and come packed with supercar technology.

Speaking exclusively to Auto Express, Domenicali said he predicts the Urus will account for more than half of Lamborghini’s global sales by 2019, with the UK potentially being the car’s third biggest market, as is currently the case for the brand’s sales.
