M3/M4 [Spy Shots] BMW M3 & M4 (G80/G82/G83)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

This would be an M Sport, at most an M Performance with Cerium Grey / Black inconsistencies

Yes with M Performance. But the actual M Sport Packet is closest to the Concept. And you can see that there is a slight similarity with the 3er M Sport Packet too.

That larger kidney grille transforms that BMW M wide lower mouth so that the kidney grille is supported by taller and slimmer brake cooling/air curtains with some supporting body work sculpture carved in to bring it altogether.

Except for the grill its looking more like a mini 8 series, but the killer will be in the details.

Silhouette and proportions look so good ... it looks so muscular ... that I am tempted to think: I don't care what they slap on the front as grille ... it can't disturb this beauty

BMW might just pull a rabbit out the hat and actually make it as good looking as the F82 M4 with the grill and all. As mentioned they have the silhouette and proportions spot on the devil will be in the details. A major detail being the grill.

Guys...

The car in front is a 2er GC I believe....but notice the hood shutline of the new M3 behind it.
Is this the first time we’re seeing it? And is it going to make me very happy?

Or will the M3 come with the G20 front after all? I am confused by that picture.

I think Its one of the older prototypes.
Look at the stuck on rear arch and lack of side skirt. Exactly like the older prototypes.

Seems we’re being fed with spy pics from different timelines, not always seeing the most recent prototypes.

Was about to say the same looks like an older prototype we’ve seen the new M3/4 testing with M mirrors by now this does not have them. They may be just testing the mechanicals if this is a new spy shot.

This, or BMW is using an old prototype right now for testing. But yeah, probably an early example without the 4er front.....what a shame :(

these definitely are old pictures. The trees around the Nürburgring currently don't look like the ones in the background.

Breaking news world exclusive

BMW is the first manufacturer to offer a 6 speed manual and paddle shifters all at once !!!

Perhaps the paddles are there for the auto-blip, like in the Nissan 370Z. Or perhaps, when building the prototype, they just raided what ever parts were available.

Perhaps.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
