It shure sucks for all those who bought F01 in 2009, and after 3 years their car will look like crap whit these 2001 yellow angel eyes. l dont't believe how BMW could do such a stupid move on their flagship which always presented the new design ways for other models. Even redisegned X5 have blue angel eyes... So sad.

The new models have white angel eyes not blue. Blue is an aftermarket color.

The facelift will make it right with the Full LED headlights. That will mean the F01 can be ordered with LED-lights only, because I don't think there is any bulb lights anywhere on the F01.....

Even Bond use this instead of a S.

Haha, but that's thanks to Scott and his team....

Which Scott ? I really don`t know.

The point is 7 series should always feature the new elements of the whole BMW line that will debute in the next few years, this time they screw people who bought F01 in the 2009/2010, cause they will all end up with the obsolete yellow angel eyes, who looked outdated already in 2009! And switching to the new LED lights from the point of F01 won't be cheap, especially if there is a design changes on the hood or bumber to support new lights.. Catfish?

No. They would screw the people who have all bought a 7er, when they suddenly change all kinds of stuff to the car. Keeping things the same until the facelift is much better, for re-sale value and for everything. The people who have bought a 7er don't care about the color of the corona rings, they bought the car for it's space, supreme comfort and whatever other reasons they had.
There will be two version of the F01; one before, and one after the FL. And not a new version for every model year. People who buy an expensive car simply don't want to see everything changed a year later.

Oh, Ok. if you could stay cool with these ugly yellow corona lights when led one arrives who will actually change the whole appereance of the car more then the whole redesign of the E65, then OK. Somehow, l just don't feel it's right, and l still think BMW should introduce LED corona lights on BMW 7 series back in the 2009 at least as an option, when they were about to change them on all other models. Now, side by side difference will be huge, and that thing klier said about someone is buying this model for its space and comfort, are just partly true. l bought mine E65 in 2004 because it was something different from everything else on the market, that's what attracts me as a buyer besides comfort and space which should be standard on these type of cars.

And after just 2 years you didn`t upset when you saw the S class W221 ? I think W221 made your car look awful.

I doubt the new FULL LED existed soon 3 years ago.

Don't let this go off topic. What you just said is a matter of taste. If you believe me, lm still driving my E65, and l'm so satisfied whit this car. Still looks good, and when compared to the W221 IMO it doesn’t look outdated. l remember when W221 hit the market in 2005 my friends called me to tell me how Merc did a shameful thing by coping most of the interior (monitor, gear shift behind the steering, command control button on the same place as the iDRIVE, they even put the cup holders on the same place as BMW but just mask them with folding plastic/leather piece, just to remember you, BMW done all of this in November 2001). So BMW E65 was a revolution model, and that’s the reason l love it after so many years. It was a brave thing BMW did, and it paid off, the rest of the competition just followed the design cues. So, no, l don't think W221 made my E65 look awful. It actually made it more beloved. But that's just MO, and it has nothing to do with the fact that BMW decided to put the same yellow corona lights in the completely new model after 7 years of waiting for something new! l still love BMW as a brand, and l will give my best to buy the current F01 next year, a used one.

You`re right when you say it`s a matter of taste. But, I`m surprised that you care that much about a simple corona color instead of other important things I think. I like the W221 design so much than the E65 and even the F01. For me, Bmw didn`t represent some real competition for MB in this class. F01 is so so ugly IMO at the front end. And interior is less special because it is shared with the F10 5er. I liked the facelifted E65 kinda looks very elegant. But W221 got so many hi-tech details and new cool inovations. Instead of 7er I like A8 from Audi.

And I would like the 2015 7er to be inspired by e38

Wasn't the F01 supposed to be BMW's modern take on this car? I remember reading somewhere that they brought the Designer of the E38 in for some "consulting" to "fix" the aftermath of the E65 era and rekindle the spirit of the E38. Coulda been bogus though.

I hope the next generation 7 takes cues from the 5 series and 6 series. I LOVE the way those cars look.

Lol, the F01 looks practically identical to the F10. Any more cues from the 5er, and the next gen 7er will look like.... the F01. :D

Honestly, The 5er and 6er just look so much sleeker and sexier. The F01 looks like a big with it's huge snout.

I agree about the 6 (COUPE), possibly the sleekest and most sensual, streamlined form I've ever seen from a car.

The F10 I think just looks sleeker because of its tighter and sportier proportions. The F01 has a more stately and regal presence with ever so slightly more squared off quarters and subtle sculpting differences, but I don't think the next 7 will take anything from the F10-specifically, as anything that it would, would come from the F01 which is the styling language that the F10 mimics so staunchly anyway.
