7 Series [Spy shots] BMW 7er (G11) Spy Pics & Info

The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the German automaker BMW since 1977. It is the successor to the BMW E3 "New Six" sedan. The 7 Series is BMW's flagship car and is only available in a sedan bodystyle (including long wheelbase and limousine models). It traditionally introduces technologies and exterior design themes before other models in BMW's lineup.

Citroen C5 ?

The C5 is nothing but a copy of BMW design cues, that´s what makes it so beautiful. You should see the discarted E90 rearlights and then look at the C5 ones. They are nearly identical.

It more or less conforms to the more edgier appearance that comes with the next generation of BMWs.
As LED technology allows for lights to get thinner and more sleeker than before.
However the ideas shown here are but from ONE PROPOSAL that made the final stages.
Some ideas are similar in regards to actual design elements on the final proposals - the high characterline , double bow prominence in the lower flanks and a much lower prominent front end.

In order for BMW to propell itself into the high end luxury market , the 7er cannot do it alone , so BMW have decided and now it will be the publics turn with a new Concept that will be revealed next year that not only shows the relevance of the car but a complete about turn of the original SUV concept - A Range Rover facsimile it is not.
The overall impressions show the same ideas with design elements in regards to a high characterline , double bow prominence which forms the intakes within the side wings , shallower glasshouse than the X5 , Think of it as a Touring on stilts , it incorporates ideas from the GT and the car the morphed into the GT the RFK, but is a SAV. Bigger, wider and more spacious than the X5. Built off of BMW's new SAV matrix and the aluminium/CFRP mix from the next 7er.

A high end luxury four door Coupe is also being looked at to give BMW serious challengers in the high end luxury market where sales will reach 1 million units by 2015 with both BMW and Rolls-Royce aiming for a considerable slice of the luxury market with the 7er , CS II , X7 , Corniche , Corniche DropHead Coupe and Wraith (Corniche four door).

So we will have a concept next year that previews the new X7. I would much prefer a concept that previews the new CS, but this might be good. With touring shape you mean more GL like?

That is how the X7 must look like :

If it looks so, I see no case for any CS, though I would like there to be one.

The front is way too old school there. But then again, that chop is really old now.....nor was it supposed to be an X7 ;)

The internal code of the car will be G11 according to Autobild. Could any mod change the tittle to include it, please?

I don't agree it looks old. And I, after seing the 3 Series F30 more often, don't like the front grill. Maybe not good execution of the idea.

Isn't time BMW moved away from V12 in 760 to V10 or even V8 from M5?
