The overall impressions show the same ideas with design elements in regards to a high characterline , double bow prominence which forms the intakes within the side wings , shallower glasshouse than the X5 , Think of it as a Touring on stilts , it incorporates ideas from the GT and the car the morphed into the GT the RFK, but is a SAV. Bigger, wider and more spacious than the X5. Built off of BMW's new SAV matrix and the aluminium/CFRP mix from the next 7er.
A high end luxury four door Coupe is also being looked at to give BMW serious challengers in the high end luxury market where sales will reach 1 million units by 2015 with both BMW and Rolls-Royce aiming for a considerable slice of the luxury market with the 7er , CS II , X7 , Corniche , Corniche DropHead Coupe and Wraith (Corniche four door).
