The masses? Which masses? Z4 is BMW's worst selling car. 5 GT sells more than Z4.

I think what he meant was that BMW tried to make the Z4's appeal be based off of comfort, efficiency, and practicality (compared to other roadsters) in an attempt to get more sales. The problem is that if that is the cars appeal, then why not get an E93?

Some one gets it.

I assume that next 7er will look similar to F01 from side with new front and rear end (like 3er and X5):

Eni and myself had a 'fallout' regarding my wishes or day dream of having a sporty 7 in the G11.

Now SCOTT27 is giving some (if one can bank on it) hope.

G11 just has to be brand identifying different to the W222, BMW has Rolls-Royce to counter the suave luxury segment/ Saying this in one sentence again as I have done 20x before.

@Betty Swollocks that's why I do not see a 2 tonne luxury barge being a BMW 7 Series (which I'd rather have if I buy into this segment) being "Sporty". It's BMW and it's BMW-DNA personified.

EDIT: Whats the point of a Porsche Panamera? We can't let it have the segment to its own now can we?

I think what he means is it needs to be relatively fun to drive again.
what do you mean with again?

To my knowledge no 7er has been a drivers car. not even the E38

There is only one drivers car in this segment and that the Panamera, and my oh my will they have to work hard to beat that one.
And if they there will be a new Panamera following the 7er shortly.

My mother had an E66 a few years back, and I drove it quite often. The steering was very nicely weighted, provided great feel, and transmitted the surface of the road to your fingertips. Also because of its active rollbars it had superb body control. The only knock I had against it was its throttle response was terrible, but I am pretty sure that was because of the early valvetronic system. Overall though, it was a fun car to drive despite its size.

^still i think sporty in this segment is like looking for fuel economy in a ferrari.

Its just......

I cant even come up with words for it..its just like shake head and ask why?

not sporty, just fun to drive, e38, e32 was the cars to be driven, not to be driven in
cant believe you dont understand what we are trying to say =/

^I am thick

Hah no i do understand what your saying.

But still vast majority of S classes are driven by their owners..

So when your talking about cars that are meant to be driven and not driven in, i guess your talking another notch up..like Rollers?

Hell even a Bentley Mulsanne is called the drivers choice in that class.

if you had s class you were glad to be chauffeured, if you had 7 series you told your chauffeur to catch a break

not literally, but you might get my point
